Stop The Press, Who's She?

Ok, so, I need to ask something here.

This is a Linux based console?

Why the hell is the debug output monitor being run on a Windows box?

:)

Even though this is a video collage of game intros and no actual games it's still impressive and Im still waiting for mine!!

To keep the price down and avoid those fees/licences we probably won't have mplayer built in, I know GPH did have it built in but we can't take risks like that in the west.

You will be able to download it in a few seconds though I'm sure.

I have no problems with downloading, but I am curious: I thought mplayer was fully open source (GPL v2) but the popular codecs (mp3 etc) weren't. Is there now some doubt over mplayer itself?

Mplayer and it's codecs are fully open source, the issue however is of patents. Some codecs that are implemented within it may have parts that are covered by one or more patents, and may give the pandora's competitors a way to attack it through the legal system.

I'd really like a media player integrated into the Pandora GUI. I hope having mplayer as a separate download doesn't mean it's a pain to use. It would be nice if the Pandora could ship with a stripped down version of mplayer that would be easy to update.

Meh. :p

Glad it works, I guess, but I'd hardly call this the "flood" of July videos we were promised...

Still waiting.
Does it look like the end of July yet? FFS.

Man, I almost feel bad for Craigix, having to keep all the whiners satisfied and interested(myself included). :p
The hype is sooo great that it would suck if :pandora1: or :pandora2: didn't meet expectations. Anyhow, the potential in this open system and the community backing it, keeps me interested.
Good luck Craigix and Pandora staff

Heh, that reminds me of Valve developer time, which anyone who has waited for any of their games should be familiar with.

There have been two videos released recently though, very close together. Perhaps that is the start of the "flood". Neither of them contained anything I was terribly interested in, but most of the stuff I want to see (e.g. controls) isn't possible to show yet anyway. Still, any videos or official news is a welcome respite from the endless speculation that is common on these forums.

Can one of the devs post a higher res OGG/ Mov/ AVI/ DV or something version?, the youtube video is so lo res and qualaty that its imposable to get a decent idea of how good the screen is. Maby post it on a better site like Vimeo?

More Mame stuff?

It's impressive and all, but when is the team going to release some videos that show off its 3D capabilities? Like Quake 3? Why only 2D stuff? Problems with the GPU or something at this point?

Or maybe post their videos on Vimeo. It's much higher quality.

CyruzDraxs you have excellent reading skills :p

Youtube has a high-quality option now, does it not?
The quality of the video depends mostly on the camera. I don't think it matters that much what site it's on.
