Project Ninja

There's a list of distributors on the Samsung Semiconductor site, not sure how useful this will be but it might be worth looking over.

http://www.samsung.com/eu/Products/Semicon...distributor.asp

From that list, I looked at a few of the distributors websites, I could only guess at what most of the sites offered though, given that they were in other languages.

http://www.egcomponents.dk
- Mentions some Samsung S3C ARM9 series processors

http://www.miko.se
- Mentions S3C2400 and S3C2410 as products. Maybe they can supply 2440?

http://www.msc-ge.com
- Provides microprocessor products (among other things). Mentions ARM920T and ARM940T core processors but only mentions S3C2400 and 2410 in a (probably outdated) PDF on the site

http://www.wbc-europe.com
- Mentions 32-bit Samsung processors, the link to a (incorrectly named, no file extension) PDF is in fact the 2003 Samsung product guide containing the S3C2440

Most of the above are in Denmark or Austria, although these were only of the first page of distributor results from the Samsung site. Some of the sites have "request quote" type features and some offer sample requests. I only skimmed over them though, so I'm not sure about minimum order amounts.

Also, from my own searches, some probably useless links:

http://www.simtec.co.uk/products/IM2440D20/
- Some sort of integrated S3C2440 module. Not knowing much about this, it looks to me that this could plug in and go, except that I don't think it has an LCD driver chip or sound hardware. Simtec also provide services for PCB production, prototyping, design, etc.

http://www.meritech.co.kr/eng/
- I think I've heard of Meritech before, they offer design and development as above. They also appear to have MCU chips under their product section, specifically the S3C2440. Quotes can be requested. Based in Korea as far as I can tell.

For me, the Ninja is looking great. The one thing that would stop me buying it (and instead get a GPx2) is the fact that it will only come with 32mb RAM, especially now that it is looking more and more likely that the GPx2 will have 64mb.

Well, Mr. Mirko is in France for a week at the moment, so he can't look at these boards here (so don't expect a reply soon :))

Is he back yet? :D

Just been looking over some of the links from my previous post again. They do appear to be mainly distributors of electronic components/semiconductors within Europe; as far as I can tell some of them should be able to supply the required CPU and possibly other parts. Whether they would be able to fill orders smaller than what Samsung quote themselves (x thousand S3C2440 minimum, for example) I don't know...
