Nanox / Microwindows Release A Little Update

ok was a dumb question ;) just saw the answer on the first page hehe
still i have problem with it..
i cant get it to work well. when i want to start a program its starts it with the launcher thousand time or so.. and gp32linux wont work anymore, you can still move the curser and kill the server, but you cant use the program

check if it is exactly the same line
and that there is not another line with nanox
that s without # in front of it

Looks cool, I'm going to try it now :D
Ingeras could you also put al the files together in a zip or rar? (the files of micro)

Edit: I got it running, but nxview, terminal and tux don't work why?

WOW, gp32linux has really come a long way since I last saw anything about it. It makes me wish I hadn't lost my gp32 about a year ago.

question, in dumbass terms, If I hit terminal, will that bring up the "DOS" of Linux? like command line or sumtin?

also, how big is the total size, all included

and sugestion, you should put more expansion options in the window, like a button that takes you in the USB storage through a gui and be able to browse windups style, just a suggestion, but yall rock

At my gp when hitting terminal there appears a screen for 1/4 sec then it's gone.
Its not that easy to "just" add usb support,
and you'll need to power the usb first(and probably a lot more).

i think there is a rar on gp32Linux.com

it s normal, terminal and tux dont work yet
terminal should launch the command line interface, alias 'dos box" of linux

i could add file browser
and access to usb storage
but well, it will be for later, need more time and more help

Looks cool i'm transfering it to my Gp32 now to play some NANO-Tetris :D

Keep up the good work GPLinux is really becoming something big!

well, I know it would be a lot of work, just stuff I think would be nice of the coder ever wanted to put it in
and I was refering to a browser
theres already support for USB storage, just an easier way to browse it

Hello everybody

I worked on the micro release, and I've made an update.

Here is what you get now:
A working terminal [NEW]
2 virtual keyboards
A CPU load monitor [NEW]

games:
tetris
snake [NEW]
xbill [NEW]
landmine [NEW]
nxeyes [NEW] (you have to launch it with the chatboard, or add this to the start file: )
/mnt/gpmm/linux/x/nxeyes &

Get it here:
http://gp32linux.gp32news.com/micro2/

The .rar file contains all the needed files, put them in /gpmm/linux

Now the technical part:

The major step is that we now have a working terminal, so that chatboard owners can play with gp32linux... For those interrested, I hav also a Rxvt and Xfree working.

I have also to mention that the 'landmine' game is in fact an Xfree application, which works on nano-X thanks to a compatibility library... We (and you) have to test other apps as well...

There is also a new flash player and an image viewer included, but we need a filemanager to be able to really use them...

Please tell us how you find this new release

so, does this include everything that is needed to run the most current version of GPLinux?
this has USB support right? but no filemanager right?

~Octavious

theres no fxe in there, so what else is needed to run GPLinux?

Hi

Oops I forgot the bootloader... I've put it in the same directory, here:
http://gp32linux.gp32news.com/micro2/

Instructions:
1) Extract the .rar to /gpmm/linux
2) Put bootload.fxe anywhere on your gp and lauch it

There is not USB support, and no file manager, but you can launch several apps.
Once we have a file manager, we will add usb support

By the way what do you mean exactly with 'USB support' ? what kind of device are you talking about?

wasnt there USB support mentioned in the news a little way back?
sry if I missunderstood sumtin, im a noob! lol

~Octavious

NEAT
however, I cant seem to close soft keyboard always..?
well, good job guys, this just keeps gettin bettter, good thing im gettin a chatboard for Xmas

it works n_n

The virtual keyboard does not load well sometimes but when it loads works well with the terminal :)

And I think xbill runs faster than the old version.

question...
is there anything we can do once we use the USB device ( storage ) attached?
like can we get on it and view pictures, watch movies, all that?
yall rock, wether we can or cant
