I'm Hungry For Some.........

I can see the slashdot article now. "Sony takes less than subtle approach to researching its competitors"

i personally don't believe in the XGP, and i hardly understand how a true hardcore PSP fanatic can give it so much interest too ?!

or maybe that could explain things .... :D

Thanks for calling me a true hardcore PSP fanatic. :)
But, anyway, I am interested in Japanese or Korean portable consoles with high specifications.

No offense sony, but it fits your stereotype very well.

Most sony fanboys want the most powerful machine on the market, even if it is lacking in some areas. So that is your main interest in the XGP?

yuck... widescreen... useless for anything but movies!

Well, Wipeout Pure sure is fun in widescreen ;)

Wipeout would have been fine with 4:3 too ;)

Really though widescreen is not a great choice in a handheld for anything other than movies. Forget the awful stretching in emus, the other reason is because it makes the unit too long. You have to have the wide screen plus the controls on each side making it long.

I used to play Wipeout for PS1 ... 4:3 ratio ... Now on the PSP, the experience is enhanced by the wider screen; I can see more in my peripheral vision (anything that allows my cranky old eyes to see more is a plus!)

I agree about the emulation bit though; the stretching would be murder :p
