So when I first ordered my GP2X, I'd never owned a GP32 or done any coding or suchlike. None whatsoever.

Now I have a GP2X! When I first got it, I was running to these forums every other minute with worrying problems, I couldn't get anything to work, I was lost. But then I figured a bit of trial-and-error is all it takes.

I managed to get Duke Nukem working on the first attempt today, and this gave me the confidence to have another stab at the SNES emu which I had so quickly given up on, and now I've just finished Plok (great game :D ).

Got tons of NeoCD games on my SD too, after initially thinking I could only have Metal Slug, and keep having to swap my games around from my hard drive to the card (a little thing called a skin solved that one).

Why weren't my NES games working? A quick glance at the readme file: oh right, it doesn't support zipped ROMs! There we go, Soap Panic in my pocket (well, sort of. Don't want to pocket it till I get a nice case for it).

So all I'm saying is a bit of advice to all the newcomers: it's a gadget which is intended to be messed around with, so mess around, you'll probably get lucky, and feel really clever and smart about it too B)

Now guess what comes next? coding for it. I already started a game...
SDL, but im a n00b with C, im using similar java methods that are in c, so its guarenteed not at all optimized.

Thanks AwesomeSongByNMH! ;)

I've really been worried about the quality of the GP2X with all the negativity that surrounded it when it was released, but with all the great homebrew and positive things being said, I'm starting to think I should buy one soon. :)

How much happier can you get>? Well, I found $55 at the gas station in a money clip. I would have no problem returning it if it had any ID..but it was my lucky day. After that I gave an oral presentation that my teacher asked where I got my wonderful resources. Then I go to work and they asked if I wanted the day off. This was the day after getting my gp2x. That is how you would get happier. (i got drunk and watched sifl and olly on my gp2x)
