I'm happy with my Nokia 6310i, beats every modern Phone-device in Battery time easily.
There was a little article on notebookcheck about the GPD Win MAX, they say it could include a Vega 8 graphics chip which would beat the usualy used Intel integrated GFX unit almost towards the 4x, nice.
I'm also very curious about the final case design, we only have teasers yet but I'm sure GPD will not disappoint.
Comments:
If this is a sneak preview of possible case design for the Max, I have the following observations:
There is no L3R3 buttons which indicates possibly that thumbsticks may be clicky. However, the appearance of the shoulder buttons appear to be quite thin.
The spacing of the ports on the back and what appears to be a full size HDMI port next to two full size USB ports and a USB-C indicates that the unit itself may actually be a couple of inches wider than the current devices. Perhaps 1 to 2 inches wider. About the same size as a GPD Pocket. The hinge on the screen also appears to be two pieces.
Just using approximation of sizes, I'd say that this makes the device at least an inch or two wider than the current GPD Win/Win 2. This may mean that the keyboard may actually be larger as well, which might mean micro-typing (As you would on say, a Gemini Unit, or some of the previous HP Windows CE palmtops). Considering the sneak preview we've had regarding some of the prototype internals and tolerances, I'd say it will be a fair bit bigger but still hand-holdable.
I'd be concerned of the following: Weight (The GPD Win 1 actually gets a little heavy after a short while, and I haven't tried a GPD Win 2 yet), comfort (It seems a bit thin, considering the shoulder buttons, might mean hand cramps) and whether or not hands obstructing the bottom grille might cause issue with airflow to the two fans that we know may be in it.
But I'm eager to see where this goes! Personally, I would like to see more smaller, pocketable devices like the GPD Micro PC. Something that doesn't necessarily need nearly that beefy hardware, but low cost units that could be coupled to something like a portable monitor, mouse and keyboard for a more comfortable setup, or for use on the go. I'd like to see a device that could just be slotted into a dock and gives you HDMI/DP, USB for mouse and keyboard and a portable monitor for when you want to use it as a desktop PC, or just take it from the dock when you want to be on the go.
