Games For Dosbox - What Games Do You Want?

Wasn't Scorched Earth highly scalable, from 320x240 to 1024x768 or so?

You are right, actually, Scorched Earth can really be played in 320x240.
I never noticed the feature in this game.

I noticed, because my first rig couldn't play with any other resolution. ;)

Say, now that i have my 2X back, thanks ED, works splendidly, how does one get a game running on dosbox? Is it possible to edit the dynablaster cfg files and have the emu run, saaayyy, Master of Orion? :)

dreffects, could you please answer my question?
hm ok :) i think you've forgotten to undo my default mapping for 'exit dosbox' which is on y with the dynablaster release. check the upper part of mapper.txt
I dont think this is the problem, as I can enter the table with f1, but then when im "in" the table you have to press f1 to select 1 player, but then f1 suddenly doesn't work...

hmm odd. have you checked the setting? the line to remove/edit for the y button is:
Code:
hand_shutdown "key 111"
change that to another button or remove it to have full control of the y button. i remember i had a key mapped with two values/events before and had some strange results.

also if the game is running slow or the cycles are set too high (which might be the case for your game) pressing and HOLDING the button makes it work. for instance in one must fall you have to HOLD the enter key for about 1-2 seconds until it is recognized by dosbox due to the low cpu capabilities.

hope i could help.

Hmmm, I was just going with the general gist of this thread. I guess I could give it a go if I can make some time...

Edit: Ok, tried it. I get to the first splash screen, then the loading screen, then...hangs. Giving up for now, need to do some real work. Anyone get this to work, let me know...pretty please?

Cool, I managed to get Railroad Tycoon 1 running under Dosbox, better yet you can get the game running in keyboard only mode, hopefully I can get the controls posted up on the wiki by the end of the week.

What I would like to see also is either Master of Orion 1 and Theme Park running under GP2x Dosbox.

So, the odds of this thing running One Must Fall 2097 at full speed (~FS2 at least) are slim?
check the vid ive uploaded on one of the previous sites and you get the impression ;)
I hate to bump old threads, but I completely forgot about this after I was without a computer for a month.

I've seen the videos, but I'm wondering if OMF running at full speed is possible with some more optimization (If there's anything left to optimize that could result in faster performance in OMF that could result in close to full speed gameplay). Also, have you tried changing the in game speed to max and seeing how fast the battles are then?

Wolfenstein 3D
Doom (already runs? dunno)
Descent
yes. yes. YES. Descent was one of my first games that I played back when I was kicking it up old school style when I was 5 on my old 486 running win '95. :)

Wolfenstein 3D also couldn't hurt :p

Any hope of getting Myst on too? I have no idea if it's possible, but that was one cool game from way back when.

Hehe im going to be playing descent and duke 3d soo much in PreCal.

Wolfenstein 3D is already ported - full speed. Do a search in the forum and you will find it. It plays great, btw!

The old gold box AD&D games: Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, Secret of the Silve Blades, and Pools of Darkness. Also, the Ancient Art of War, Warlords 1/2.

Any of these ported yet (or even possible)?

Can't most of those games be played on older computer emulators? (like the Amiga or Atari ST)

Since I can't get Silent Hunter ;) I'd quite like to see Wolfpack working.
Not sure how many people will remember/have that game, though, and I can't seem to find my copy :(
