Release Firefox 23.0.1 in repo

The primary reason for updates these days is that someone found a way to break the program to remotely sabotage your computer. The fixes are there to prevent that particular method from working.
And the jerkos just find another way.

Hence my beginning to think seriously about running Linux with WINE for the programs that HAVE to run in Windows...assuming the programs I have in mind will work with WINE, but most do as I understand.

I will NEVER go Mac.

hdonk, thanks so much for your work, and I really appreciate having an up-to-date browser available.

For the first time, we did a major trip with no PC, just the tablet.  Because of your great Firefox port, I was able to deal with airlines, bank, car rentals, Amazon, all the stuff which requires a "real" browser.  The Pandora came through like a champ!  Its sync with my desktop FF saves a *ton* of hassles.

Hi is there a Way to preload Firefox with the Files into the Ram?

Then have we maybe much Speed improvement.

This SD Card usage slows my System much down while browsing.

It is a fast SD Card,so that cannot be the cause..

..its fresh installed with deleted appdata from Versions before....

...its the 1GHZ Edition with 1111MHZ and Sysspeed 444....

...maybe its the installed activated Flash Plugin, can i preload maybe the Flash Plugin into Ram?

Firefox is very good and i thank you much for Releasing and updating HDonk :)

Have you maybe Tips for speeding up Firefox?

Have you tried compiling with LinuxBochs GL ??

Maybe we have little Faster Firefox with OpenGL Acceleration when we open Firefox in a GL Window.

I dont know much about this Things, but have Ideas ;)

The best way of speeding FF, assuming you boot your Pandora from SD card, is to put the FF pnd on to your nand, and run it from there.

The performance improvement of doing that is phenomenal.

However if you use your nand as your normal boot source, I don't think you'd have enough space on it. Maybe.

So there is an SD problem.

Thanks for the information.

Is there a way to fix the SD access?

I don't know? Directly wire the SD card in to the memory bus? :)

Has anyone done a speed comparison between nand & SD cards?

Hmm great Idea:

Disable Zram and make a 100MB Ramdisk for Firefox.

I saw that Firefox use on SD in normal working ~65MB so there is enough place for temporary Files.

Running from Ram give maybe a Bigger Speedboost as from Nand.

Have anyone a little Howto for making a 100MB Ramdisk?

On my GHZ have i with 100MB Ramdisk ~222MB free Ram and i think its ok for try to run it.

Maybe a 80MB Ramdisk is ok too.

Firefox from a Ramdisk...

..with every Start have we a clean Firefox and maybe much faster :D

I made a Ramdisk with 100MB but only can access 14MB from it,must try more.

Maybe i make a Video when it work, maybe Youtube work then much better and faster surfing :D

Test & feedback pls.
Thanks hdonk for this great port!

I've a little issue installing an addon: TagSpaces, it's a great note-taking programm.

Unfortunatly it gives me an error that a needed file could not be modified:

O_O SPACE NEXT !!!! Damn, I was missing so much this Opera feature !!  :D

Bug/issue report: the html5 version of grooveshark does not work with this Firefox: the page loads up fine and looks ok but the songs refuse to play. (but they work in other browsers on Pandora.)

No problem with flash here.

With the new FF23 I've found my way back to FireFox.

Somehow used Qupzilla the last weeks but now I'm going with FireFox again.

See, that is why I hate updates.  They come out too freaking often.

just as soon as you get one browser working the way you want it to, they intro a new version that messes up everything you set up.

This is the main reason I ended up going to Avast! for my anti-virus.  All other anti-virus programs kept constantly bugging you to update...Avast! just plain DOES IT...and does not bother you.  Set it to "Gaming Mode" and it auto-updates, you never get pestered with little pop-ups to update the damn thing.

Lol, is that why you got that nasty virus recently? Because Avast! Doesn't bother you with updates?

Edit: Shouldn't be an insult or something, just thought that was a little funny.
