on the other hand you never know what version your chrome is, unless you go check. it's just "chrome" and always up to date, that's why I like itIn the past every little updated\bugfixed version was released maintaining the main version number, it was changed only when something big or really different was added, but with the new trend started by Google Chrome seems like the browsers now changes that number at every minimal fix... it's just this, a trend.I am very curious, call me stupid if you want...but why do they keep releasing new versions of the same Browser over and over?
It annoys the hell out of me to have to update them on my PC, is there some reason for all this?
It isn't like I see any new functionality or anything...
The casual people says "Chrome is version 10 while Firefox is STILL version 3 !!! I'll use Chrome because is more updated"
For the rest it's always like in the past.
That's why Chrome is not used in corporate context : because it rolls out changes before you can test themthat's why I like it
Well that's probably because you only use like as a browser then, and don't build/run applications on the intranet with it. If not you are bound to run into troubles sooner or later. That's what LTS versions are for.How often changes come out has nothing to do with when we roll them out.
Would need updates, then if these little criminal bastards would get caught and shot for being jerkoffs. Sorry, but I am pissed off cuz I just got hit with the Crypto-Lock virus - which is basically extrotionware.Bug and security fixes for the most part.I am very curious, call me stupid if you want...but why do they keep releasing new versions of the same Browser over and over?

Chrome just looks weird on my screen. I could never get used to the way it looks - so much different from Firefox that I am used to.on the other hand you never know what version your chrome is, unless you go check. it's just "chrome" and always up to date, that's why I like itIn the past every little updated\bugfixed version was released maintaining the main version number, it was changed only when something big or really different was added, but with the new trend started by Google Chrome seems like the browsers now changes that number at every minimal fix... it's just this, a trend.I am very curious, call me stupid if you want...but why do they keep releasing new versions of the same Browser over and over?

ASnd I gotta go thru almost daily updates and having plugins suddenly not work anymore and etc etc etc because of this childish nonsense. That's exactly what they're doing. It's very childish, I agree, but meh...as long as the software still works and maintains its current trajectory of slimming down, they could call it Trixibelle Fifi My Little Pony for all I care.
Again, you make assumptions... Since this has nothing to do with the thread topic. I'm done. How often changes come out has nothing to do with when we roll them out.

I know what you mean, but you have to choose between no progress or things breaking, as in pretty much everything in life. Firefox does have something that might be of interest though: Firefox Extended Support Releases (ESRs)But that is why I hate updates. You get plugins breaking all the time.
