It's not really a matter of loyalty, it's a matter of betatesting , I have many tests to do, and there are many optimizations to be done, it is why I don't post stats... YET B)

I thought beta testing was supposed to be open to the user base? What you're doing seems more like alpha testing.

open and closed beta testing. done on many PC games, particularly MMORPGs.

"Once the alpha phase is complete, development enters the beta phase. Versions of the software, known as beta versions, are released to a limited audience outside of the company." from Wikipedia.

"Closed beta testing" in your sense is not beta testing. It's alpha testing. Closed beta implies that there is a selected group of individuals to which the test version is released. Open beta testing is when the test version is publically available.

lol debating whether testing should be private or not makes no difference! This project is using internal, besides we should just be grateful that there is something to test and that when it does get release there won't be BIG annoying bugs =)

I agree :) it doesn't matter if we know the test results or not. Knowing it will not magically improve the quality of the next relaese :p
but on the other side. It won't hurt the quality either if they are released :p

I'll edit this and add a list of games that I'll be testing over the next couple of days  ---
<snip>
Don't know whether you have it, but Tekken 2 had some 'off screen vertices' problems with previous (open) beta.. Maybe worth a test at some point (else I'll report back on my games when a public beta is released).
Let's hope zodttd gets to the bottom of the gp2x architecture problems :)

haven't zodttd received his new GP2X yet??

(I got a new friend addicted to GP2X :p but unfortunately none of them already bought one :( )

No GP2X here yet. Maybe it will come tommorow? :p

I need a couple more testers for psx4gp2x...
Can anyone here take video's of psx4gp2x "in action", such as the ones on YouTube, and have previously used psx4gp2x. if you know you have some currently working games and fit the above description...PM me!

I have been hard at work making psx4all's ARM dynarec perform better. I have not had time to fix some compatibility issues, but I don't think they're the dynarec's fault and have an idea of what's wrong with loading certain games. It should be an easy fix if thats the case.

Certain things don't work currently, most importantly save states and in-game game selection. Should also be an easy fix when it's time comes soon.

I'm pretty exhausted and my PM box will be flooded soon, so if you want to test this version out, hurry. :p

I'll get some of the questions on this thread answered soon. One of the questions I want to answer is which is the "best" platform for psx4all currently. :)

Send you a pm not too long ago. Do you think a sports game would run good on this next release private or beta.

aww to bad i don't have a camera to make a movie otherwise i could probably test tomb raider 1 and 3....

and you deserve beatings for your last sentence zodttd xD

gp2x for sure!

Well, we'd all *like* it to be GP2x, but to be fair, if the dynarec is currently behaving like a petulant child on it, it might not be!

 The best platform for PSX emulation is sadly not our one ( at least not yet ), but time will tell... As for previous questions, I'll give a quick answer...

Final Fantasy IX - Didn't work, it crashed after load success, but it's due to the compatibility bug that Mr.zodttd has mentioned, the same goes for most of the other games in the list that I posted yesterday... Infact, most of the games that previously worked now don't, but it's only a provisional situation lol.

I'll continue with my tests B)

gp2x for sure!

The best way to do it is to own a recording device that supports S-VIDEO in (the audio jacks are of not much use in this case!) Such as a DVD-recorder, ect. Then the dvd video could be ripped and encoded to h.264/miscelanious-other-codec and shared. But; do any dvd recorders have such support? I see some listed in the Argos catalogue as having DV-input support, that sounds promising. I'm thinking I need a dvd-recorder anyway, if I get one that will let me record off the TV-out jack, I'll PM you. However I am waiting for my paycheck! Someone make it the end of the month today please. :)

A cheaper and easier solution is to get your PC a TV tuner card (with Video in) and use one of the Nth software already available to capture the video almost uncompressed (Mpeg 2 I guess) and then experiment with divx and xvid codecs until you are satisfied with both the quality and size of the video file :)

Yes, how I did videos of an earlier beta, was to use the TV-out cable, and plug straight into my TV-card. then cabputre in full quality XVID, then 2pass re-encode to bring the size down but retain most of the quality. Then upload to YouTube... and your done. easy.
