Hehe, ich hab doch lange nach einem günstigen Schleppi gesucht, ohne eine Lizenz für etwas zahlen zu müssen, das ich eh löschen werde, um ein Linux draufzupacken.<br/>
Aufgabe: Auf dem Sofa sitzen, 'n büschen Surfen und rumdaddeln und vor allem mich vollständig via Remote-X, SSH und allen anderen feinen Tools auf meinem Homeserver und dem "richtigen" Rechner einen Stock über mir anmelden und arbeiten zu können. Allzu große Anforderungen an die Hardware stellt das nicht, es sollte aber schon ein richtiger Laptop sein, kein *-pad. <br/>
Ich hatte auch ernsthaft an eine Pandora gedacht, das wäre aber nicht das richtige gewesen. <br/>

Da es eine reine Spielerei ist, sollte es auch nicht mehr als 300,- Euro kosten - naja, war abgesehen von den Zoll-Freigrenzen 'n ziemlich wirllkürliches Limit...<br/>

Letzten November habe ich dann in der Guanghua Digital Plaza in Taipei endlich mal nicht die übliche Antwort (habt Ihr auch Laptops ohne Windows...? Häh, wie soll denn das gehen....) bekommen. Das gab es sonst nur bei Lenovo mit den Highend-Geräten, als Dual-Boot, nicht ohne Win-Lizenz.<br/>
Dann habe ich doch echt einen Compaq Presario CQ58 für 8.000 NTD (ca. 280,- Euro) mit einem Free-DOS gefunden. Ich durfte sogar erst mit einer Life-DVD ausprobieren, ob der WiFi-Chipsatz von einer Linux-Distro unterstützt wird. Das war nicht eben einfach, da mein Chinesisch nur zum Smalltalk beim Essen taugt. Die haben mich doch eher sparsam angeschaut.<br/>
Am Ende habe ich noch eine Maus und 'ne Tasche dazu geschenkt bekommen. Die waren wohl froh, ihre Restposten endlich loszuwerden. <br/>
Das Ding ist nicht gerade ein Leistungsmonster (Dualcore Intel Celeron 1,7 GHz, 2 GB Arbeitspeicher und 500 GB Festplatte, erfüllt aber exakt seine Aufgabe. Ich hatte noch im Hotel OpenSuse 12.2 draufgepackt, und der kleine läuft jetzt selbst mit KDE4.8 passabel. WiFi, Energiekontrolle und selbst die Webcam werden voll unterstützt. Die Akkulaufzeit liegt je nach Benutzung bei über 4 Stunden. <br/>
Und vor allem anderen: Ich brauchte keine Geld nach Redmond zu schicken... <E>:nope:</E></r>
