Darkborn, and others...most of us here in America do not support these actions and policies either.
BUT WE ARE ALSO FUCKING POWERLESS TO STOP THEM.
You think we have a fucking democracy here? Puh-fucking-leeze!! The wealthy and corporations control this country, and our leaders serve their agenda...not ours!
and yet WE are the ones who get victimized by these asswipes attacks.
And yes, they are terrorists and they are asswipes...and as long as they continue to target innocent persons...who have no ability to make or change the policies of our government...they will continue to be asswipes and terrorists.
Let them go after the sons of bitches who are ruining our country. Why the hell should innocent poor victims like those in Boston...die...just because a couple of assholes don't like US Government policy? Let them target the people who profit from those policies and actions. Those policies and actions ten dto either hurt us, too...or, at the very least they do not HELP us...WE don't benefit from this crap!
I'm serious...it really PISSES ME OFF on International Forums...the way Americans are trashed because of the policies of our government - which we can't control or change...let me clue you in...most of US are against those policies, too!
You do not understand how politics works in America.
Those with an agenda...contribute huge piles of money to candidates re-election campaigns. (read the Supreme Court Decision recently on FEC versus Citizens United)
That money is used to run massive ad campaigns for that candidate, lying about their records...distorting the records of opponents...and most Americans are not educated enough...or care enough, to research it for themselves. This is why negative attack ads work in politics.
This tends to get those politicians who will support the agenda of the biggest campaign donors...elected and re-elected.
In America...a politician's JOB NUMBER ONE is to get re-elected. Not to do The People's business, not to represent The People...they could give a shit about We The People. They care about one thing: getting re-elected.
And this is how America has become what it is today.
But that is our government.
PLEASE do not assume that we American citizens support the policy and agenda that is carried out in our names.
We're just basically powerless to stop it.
In 1934, General Smedley Butler was approached by business and industry leaders. He was presented with a large suitcase full of cash. This was only a downpayment. These business leaders wanted General Butler to assemble an Army, overtake Washington, depose FDR, and install himself as the facsit dictator of the United States.
It would have worked, too, except that General Butler was a true patriot. He refused, and exposed the plot.
Many have no idea how close America came, in 1934, to becoming a fascist nation.
Now, of course, the coup has been accomplished...and without blood. We are now a fascist nation. We operate for the benefit of buig business and screw everyone else. That is basically fascism.
Fascism should NOT be confused with the Nazi Party.
Fascism, strictly defined...is a business-government cooperation. The Holocaust and all that stuff, is not a part of fascism.
Any student of Political Science can tell you this - Amerrica is a fascist nation.
Below - are the major signs of a fascist nation. Those which apply to the United States - I have bolded and italicized. Those which at least partially apply...have been bolded only.
Dr. Lawrence Britt has examined the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia) and several Latin American regimes. Britt found 14 defining characteristics common to each:
1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. (I point your attention to the PATRIOT ACT)
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc...(I point here to the onging scapegoating of Muslims you hear all over right-wing radio and news networks)
4. Supremacy of the Military - Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.
5. Rampant Sexism - The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution.
6. Controlled Mass Media - Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common...(the media here tend to push the corporate/military-idustrial complex agenda)
7. Obsession with National Security - Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.
8. Religion and Government are Intertwined - Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.
9. Corporate Power is Protected - The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.
10. Labor Power is Suppressed - Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed.
11. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts - Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked.
12. Obsession with Crime and Punishment - Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations...(there is not, per se, a national police force here)
13. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption - Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders...(I point here to the "too big to fail...too big to jail" banks that crashed our economy and raided our Treasury - causing massive hardship and deprivation for the rest of us.)
14. Fraudulent Elections - Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections...(Bush 2000, anyone? Contant negative attack ads and unlimited corporate cash in elections, anyone? Voter ID laws, anyone? Gerrymandering, anyone?)
