Just a thought I had earlier when I was playing DrMD in the bath, along the lines of I hope I don't drop this.

I want to fit a wrist strap (perhaps from a camera) to the gp32_console , but I can't see anywhere to fit it. I am thinking of lasering a bracket out of some stainless steel to make a little hoop that the strap can be attached to and then fitting the hoop into the case to the right of the EXT port.

Anyone tried anything similar? The bracket would look sort of like a 'T' with a hole at the bottom.

Perhaps with the top part folded back 90deg. I would obviously need to file a little bit of material from the case on the join of the two halves, perhaps use a bit of silicon sealant to prevent rattling.

BTW I was using batteries in the bath not a mains adaptor (that'd be stupid!)

EDIT! tried drawing in ascii but the spaced aren't the same as when editting.

some people read a book while soaking in the bath, I play on my gamepark. Surely it isn't that unusual!?! Is it?

That is beside the point, I want to know if anyone has (or has thought) of putting a wrist strap on a gamepark.

I'm stuck for a reason as to why you'd play with your gp32 in the bath

I'd be worried that steam would damage it

are you that blind in a sence on understanding people?

he wants to watch porn! hes sexually deprived and wants to have privacy in the bath room to bash off, but doesnt want the gp32 to fall in the toilet! by Drmd he means "dirty real minge, definately!" cant you see that  iv got all 4 versions of it!

I never concidered it. I'm too cautious with my FLU and it's various gaps and holes. If I'm out and I think it's going to rain I wrap it in a plastic back before putting it in my bookbag. The last thing I want is to have to turn around and drop cash on a BLU+.

Seriously, has no one thought about a wrist strap so you don't drop your GP32?

I've considered it but after almost killing my gp32 in a modding accident I decided it would be better if I didn't try....Sorry I couldn't be any help.

It would seem to me that since there's no immeditaly obvious place to put a strap outside of drilling one into their precious, hard to service, peice of technology that most people just kinda say "Rats, I guess I'll just have to hold it really tight" and go about their buisness.

Hey I have a little idea, don`t know if it will work...
I going to post some pictures of what I mean, soon...

EDIT:
Okay I`m not posting a description, look at the pictures to see how it`s done. I used just a regular wriststrap from my DS... every normal wriststrap should work...

That's more like it. I'll try it and see whether the battery cover stays on. Still might try making some brackets though as those battery covers are hard to get hold of.

Regards

the battery covers are pretty flimsy in that part :) have you had an idea about using larger screws for holding the unit together, or a bolt with 2 nuts on it, one to hold the gp together and another to hold the strap into the screwhole

BLU+ battery cover are hold really tight, they are really hard to open (atleast mine), and I don`t think this does any harm to the lid as long as no thief comes by and pulls hard on it :D

So you can transfer the hole from the GPX2 to GP32? B)

But you know, there are those bumps on the back of the machine... Is there anything inside them? Drill a hole trough?

Seraptin, I have already pre-ordered one, but as Jarska333 stated that might stop my GPX2 from hitting the ground (or water) but the soon-to-be hard-to-get-hold-of GP32 wouldn't like it. Perhaps I should buy a second GP32 just in case. Mmm, one of those black ones from that French importer...

that's true but how many people would read a book valued at £100 in the bath

I understand why you might want to but if it did fall in the bath, most likely goodbye gamepark

each to their own I guess
