Any Games Like Bangai-0?

I've played it and I thought it was pretty good but the controls were a bit awkward. I later founf out it was originally an N64 game, and I can see how the N64 controller would be perfect for it.

Nothing exactly like it, of course, but try these:

Cybernator/Assault Suit Valken on SNES.

Robotron on MAME (or, better, Llamatron on ST/Amiga) -- big influence of Bangai-oh's.

Retrograde on c64.

Forgotten Worlds on MAME/etc (it was converted to most systems)

You might also like Dropzone (on c64/Atari 800/SNES/Gameboy) for some twitch shooting action.

also, gunpei2x: i cannot get robotron ( i <3 by the way) to work on mame <_<

Working brilliantly here, try another rom version. Just remember to change the control configuration to suit :)

Bangaio is quite brilliant on the DC actually - the DC was an amazing 2D system too. I'm almost as upset about the Dreamcast's unnecessary failure as I am with Al Gore's loss in 2000.

Bangaio is totally in the Robotron tradition, with a hint of "gunstar heroes" screen-filling chaos. So any game with independant running and shooting directional controls is in the category. Total Carnage, Smash TV etc.

I didn't say it was a good as gunstar, just reminscent of gunstar. Maybe I just said that because it came from the same company (Treasure). It is unique however, and on Dreamcast, really fast and crazy.
