The Game.Com (very successful competitor to the Gameboy from Nintendo...) apparently has a leaked unreleased version of Symphony of the Night's.
I have one of these handhelds (the classic model) and while I did enjoy some games all games pretty much perform poorly. Like they have traded a decent framerate for better looks.
Maybe all the early releases just didn't spend enough time on optimizing specifically for this platform. Devs probably had limited time and struggled to get anything working on the platform to begin with.
I wonder if all later released games would have been 'good' ones instead
