A Nice Thread All About The Psp

I wouldn't hope for 24hr's of battery life anytime... well.... ever! But, Sony reps have stated it is an eventual goal of their's to get the PSP's battery life to last, on average, a full flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo, about 14 hours. Actually I think this was the president of Sony himself who said this... of SCEJ I mean.

The HD is not real of course. LOL when I read the news I knew it wasn't real. Yeah they're really going to suddenly change the design. Rightttttttt..........
Ever heard of the Nintendo DS? A change is in the pipeline  .

However an external HD connected via USB would be a definite possibility, especially with the talk of an add-on controller - specifically for that Archer MaClean's Mercury....

Argon0..

Yeah the USB has possibilities, I'm 99% sure sony will release a USB digital camera for the PSP at some point, that attaches to the top. The bios seems to have a "view Photos" from what I remember (don't go to the start up often :p)

the "View Photos" option in the menu is for viewing photos stored on the Memory Stick. You can put photos on there from your PC, or also, any Sony Camera that uses a Memory stick, if you take pics then put that memory stick in the PSP, they default into the directory for viewing on the PSP automatically. Not saying there won't be a camera attachment for the thing... they showed lots of USB accesories at E3 last year, the only ones of which I really remember were the USB keyboard, and the external battery pack... there may have been a camera I'm not so sure. I have to go back thru my photos that I took while I was there and see if there's anything that looks like a camera.

I dont doubt it will have one at some point... they're talking about turning the thing into a cell phone for crissakes....

well Sony really is trying to make it do a little bit of everything... I can't say I think that's a great idea either, but hey, it really doesn't matter it's not like I have to buy any of that crap. As long as they keep the focus on games (and stop trying to make this be the new damn iPod).

Thanks alot. I plan on being involved throughout the whole process even though there isn't alot of headway at this time.

That second link is hella interesting.

Thanks. :)

Isn't the pattern usually that... the homebrew scene seems nonexistant... and then one genius or group of geniuses cracks the damn thing, and then the floodgates rip open? Seemed that way with the GBA but then I didn't pay much attention til PocketNES released. Homebrew on both the DS and PSP seems rather dead at the moment, and it seems these will be two tough cookies to crack... but it will be done... it WILL be done!!!

Ds has been cracked for a while.

no prob, sir diggy.

and yeah, i think what's holding most of the work back is the lack of a psp dev kit in the hands of those 'genius' groups. or at least it's what most people say.

yeah I knew about the DS being cracked, but it's still slow going for it that I see. I'm not looking too hard as of yet though... it'll catch my attention when something BIG happens for it. I still have higher hopes for the PSP scene because of the much better screen and the Memory Sticks as storage media... bought me a 1gb so I'll be able to fit all kinds of homebrew shiz on there once they get it started.
