30h Flight any ideas?

Pokemon Yellow and a walkthrough guide. Only use the guide if you get stuck. You will only have about 6 hours of game left when you land.

Make sure to have a USB cable handy just in case (Some flights now have a USB port on the back of the chairs.).

Also don't have some kid kicking you every time you fall asleep! >_>
Before I went to China, I made a point of figuring out what kind of planes the airline was flying. I then went and looked up what the entertainment options were. The OP should be able to figure out what kind of ports to expect. But, I wouldn't necessarily count on them being there as often times you can't figure out what exact configuration the plane is in, sometimes airlines won't order quite the same options each order.

Personally, I'd get something like: http://www.hibermate.com/ and spend as much time sleeping as possible.

Quieten noisy children by hitting them with it. :)
I was thinking of noise cancelling headphones, but that is a cheaper option

legend of mana and Dragon Quest VI + Final Fantasy 3/4 Lufia 2 all seem decent options, so thanks for the suggestions. Was also thinking of Mother 3 with the English patch

Guess I just need to pick my favorite

load up dirty movies
30 hours of porn
You'll need some superglue too...
what for?

To glue it back on after you um... make it fall off from overuse.

(i.e. don't accidentally use it as a lubricant like the pie-lover from American Pie.)

You could load up some movies on your SD cards.

Possible titles are Airplane, Airplane II, Alive, 2012, Flight, The Grey, and Final Destination. All good choices to eviscerate time.

Any of the Zelda Gameboy Color games, Crystalis, Blackthorne or The Guardian Legend all on the NES, and a good ebook will suffice. A nap will work too. Enjoy your trip DrCJBoduma. :)

P.S. I was only joking above. :p

:D Love the choice of films.

I will look into your game suggestions - Thanks

There are some voiced books... http://www.booksshouldbefree.com/ I would recommend many of them, so have a pick (different languages also, so you can learn the language too).

As for games: I like SNES. Small roms, easy and fun arcade.

And prepare to talk to people, showing off the Pandora (get ), hopefully you get some interested people into buying one too...

... and don't forget to sleep. (audiobooks are good for that... when just not yet asleep)

And some favourite music when the bouncing turbulence begins *(to calm the nerves)*

Oops, Blackthorne is for the SNES. Also try Super Metroid and Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

Other gaming suggestions are Tunnel Runner and Tutankham for the Atari 2600, Boxy Boy for the PC Engine, Faxanadu for NES, Quartet and Montezuma's Revenge for the Sega Master System, the GBA's Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission, Mame, PS1's Team Buddies, Twisted Metal 2 and Silent Bomber, and N64's Ocarina of Time.

Non-disaster flicks Dolls(1987) and Judgement Night(1993) could break up the gaming marathon between some sleeping.

You'll need a spare battery no doubt. Say hello to Lucy Lawless and Hugh Jackman for us.  :D

2 spare batteries - 3 total.

35 GB more or less of music

Vultures Eye (Nethack with images)

X-Com (Both of them)

Considering you'll sleep off and on for at least 6-8 hrs, the above should be enough. You probably won't finish either Vultures Eye or one of the X-Com games inside of the whole trip there and back.

I am going to be doing a coast to coast American train ride in March (San Francisco -> New York), so I think I'll be taking my Pandora along and taking some notes from this thread.

Yeah Pandora is great traveling. Ugg 30h flight... I think a strong alcoholic drinks and a comfy pillow may be in order too.
