I'm already making guesses as to what happens - now to see if any of them are right.

Possibility A - it's a leaked emu from elsewhere
Posisbility B - it's something fake meant to look like a Gen emu
Possibility C - it's a harmful program
Possibility D - it's a junk file and won't even run, author will blame this on Rico
Possibility E - author does not send file
Possibility F - author sends file, it's junk "corrupted in transmission"
Possibilty G - author tries to bribe Rico into saying it's a decent WIP
Possibility H - it actually works

Have I missed any?

How in the heck do you hexedit the prog to operate a different clock speeds? I been looking thru the hex finding the cpu speed value, and i dont seem to find it

Right it would be nice to hex edit snes9xgp and clock it at 156 just for kicks to see what kind of speed diffrence you can get out of it.

Well whatever, lets just wait and see before jumping to any more conclusions. If it is something bad, rico has his ip :p

Umm..
Possibility I - Booting up the file brings up the following message: "This program is only compatible with GP64"? :p

Tha's a good idea.. if only the LCD-breaking issue wasnt a drawback from overclocking maybe we'd all be enjoying a rather perfect SNES emulator running at 166MHz by now ;)

Yeah except you can overclock without damage to your whole GP32. craig did the test and it was discussed at gp32emu.com now everyone is using the 166mhz option(well the ones that can)

When i first got my GP32, I was using the 166MHz option on whatever allowed me to overclock (first program to use being GPEngine) and I was unaware of the damages at the time.. when I read about this and became more aware I stopped, but during my time of use I was lucky not to have any LCD problems (apart from the fade-away, which was simply lack of battery power :p)

Well I havn't had any luck figuring out how to change the clock speed in snes9xgp. However I did get it to look in a folder called SNES for the roms insted of the root directory which is just such a pain in the ass. WOO HOO lets hear it for organized file systrems.

And if he does he has also earned $100...... Bud um bud um (well however you spell the mysteryous sound)

It'a 6:30am Central Eastern - I made a mistake. Rather than CET being 6 hours later, it's 6 hours earlier. So the "11-16 CET", instead of being "5-11 GMT" are now "17-21 GMT"

So he's still got quite a few hours.

In years to come when I reminisce about the GP32 this quirky saga will probably be one of those memories. You wouldn't get anything like this with the GBA I tell you that...
