Lots Of Case Shots - Renders - Still No Gui?

    Well, there's the pic of the hand with the Pandora floppy (it was a lot easier to see in the last vid) and the text "v1.3", so there is some sort of firmware/OS... But there's really no reason for guessing... One of the devs with MK0 boards could just tell us (;

    Another Render (yeah... I Know...)

Umm, not sure why noone mentioned it yet, but why is the headphone jack recessed? Didn't that cause all sorts of trouble with the iPhone, to the point that there are "adaptors" (basically just short extension cables that have a plug that fits the iPhone) for it now?

We Want You: A Different Take On An Mmrpg

Well, yeah, you could just tell the Pandora, but that would remove most if not all of the "alternate reality" feel from the game, wouldn't it?

We Want You: A Different Take On An Mmrpg

This sounds like an awesome idea, even though I didn't quite understand what you meant all of the time (could just be my English (; ) and it really seems you did put a lot of thought in it. But to me it sounds like the game would be highly location-aware (using places in the real world)... How...

    Overal Interface Issues

Oh, okay, I didn't realize it was meant that way... still, your approach sounds a bit clumsy IMHO. Why not take one more tap/button press to open any program you want to use first and then have that program display a nice list of all the files it can handle? Sounds like much less trouble than...

    Overal Interface Issues

I don't know about the whole ROM launching thing... Sure, it would be nice, and as Chip said, maybe someone is going to create something like that, and many people would use it. BUT: Shipping an emulator frontend with the system would make the Pandora look like just an emulation machine, which...

    Logo Poll Results

I love Eolair's design and hope it'll be used in some way (even if it's just an after-market sticker ^^). Good Job! And just to chip in on the "ultraportable" debate: ultraportable doesn't really refer to the size as much as the functions/size ratio, I believe. Like Gruso said, it's a...

    About The Slogan For Pandora

What happened to "What's in your box?" I suggested it once before, but I still don't remember who said it first (not me). I think it's really nice because it emphasizes that you can put whatever you want on it. OTOH, "Open the box" is pretty cool, too, seeing as it's such an open-source and...

    Colors

I don't know exactly how open the Pandora will be, but maybe they'll even release the CAD files for the case like OpenMoko did a while ago... And even if they don't, the PCB has been shown openly so one could even design their own "better" case... Some people already have plans to add a...

    Quake 1/2/3 Sdk

Well, the iPhone (and iPod touch, too) seems to have a pretty awesome GPU that noone really ever talked about... those two really could become contenders in the handheld gaming business, especially with their motion sensors and touchscreens, riding on the Wii/DS's wave ^.^

So How Do We Market This Thing?

el_pangos Ideas sound good, true... BUT: All of these would require a server that is being paid for by someone, as well as someone to make them in the first place and maintain them. For example, Steve Jobs said that the new iPhone/iPod touch app store would probably not make Apple much money...

So How Do We Market This Thing?

I actually had a nice little idea for a pandora ad a few days ago, but didn't bother to post it yet, so here it goes: At the start, there's a Box, saying Pandora on the top, preferably with the logo on the other sides.... It opens, camera flies in and we see that all of the inside surfaces are...

    L + R Buttons

I'd personally love the shoulder buttons to be like the GP32's because they had great tactile feedback... But I've never used a GP2X, so I can't comment on that, plus GP32-style buttons wouldn't fit the Pandora's case that well, I think. And to all the people wanting more shoulder buttons...

    Tv Out

umm, dumb question, but why not enable the user to pick the TV-Out resolution that fits their screen on the Pandora itself?

    Pandora Website Uppdate

I actually don't like the "slogan" that much... "Ultra Portability without sacrificing Capability" is just too long IMHO. Sounds more like a line on the back of the packaging or something like that. I think the catchphrase should be much shorter. I think it was in the "what's going to be on your...

    Pandora Interface Design Concept(s).

umm, I think shipping it with emulators on it would put it in way too much of a legal gray zone... Besides, we have access to the whole debian-arm repository (is that the right term), so with the right frontend, all the installations (and updates!) could be one-click/tap

    Our New Machine, Pandora

This test is clearly impossible... we are sorry. I wouldn't blame you if you gave up now. There really is no way you can be the last to post in this thread. Once again, we apologize for creating this entirely impossible test.
