One thing you could do is release the binary (without game files) and see if they issue a takedown notice. Not ideal, I know, but if they do contact you, you will then have a channel to say "hey look, I contacted you several times, and didn't answer"

Nope, sorry. I must have deleted the email. ):

I am 13232133% sure that the guy from the contact us page emailed me back saying as long as original game files were needed to play the port it would be 100% fine and in breach of nothing.

and even if it IS in breach of something introversion would be good blokes about it because they can't afford dickish lawyers.

Oh well, I still guess you need their consent.... <_< *Do it anyway* WHO SAID THAT!?

I'm not going to do that just one week after contacting them. If they take long enough for me to finish my todo list for non-beta, I'll think about considering nesnero's option. As long as it's in beta (even if everything's working), I don't want to do a public release unless they contact me with good news.

Lawyers or not, if I stray from their respect they'll be less likely to extend us anything *beyond* just allowing a binary release.

I don't think they'd mind- you could ask the community if you're really desperate, though.

It explicitly states in their license and their blog post on the subject (and specifically mentions the Pandora in the blog post when talking about it). I'm going to respect their wishes wrt talking to them before release.

It's the right decision, lunixbochs. Better to play it safe, the last thing we want as a scene is to step on their toes.

In the meantime, people could fire up the PC version and run it windowed at 800x480 in anticipation :/ That's what I'm doing.

Definitely safer to wait for an official response I think too. While it's good to see Pandora getting some commercial games, we have to play by the rules to avoid rubbing anyone the wrong way!! ;)

I thought you were joking about them mentioning this project

We also know Linux users love tinkering with the source code so we’ve decided to release that as well for all our games. We can’t grant the right to release versions of the games on other platforms because this is something that we want to do ourselves, but if this is something you’re really keen to do, drop us a line and we’ll see if we can sort something out. For instance If you show us a working Pandora version we’re not going to stop you launching, but we’ll need to have a conversation first. We’re tackling all the IOS versions ourselves though, so we won’t be granting licenses for this

Gotta love introversion. Maybe someone from the OPT has already approached introversion before? Guess we are in luck from the sound of that blog post. Just gotta be patient that's all.

Introversion is aware of the Pandora and the porter has contacted them. Sending an occasional reminder is ok, but spamming them with messages and being a nuisance will not help in getting permission quicker.

Introversion has sold more copies through the humble bundle then they ever did before. I'm sure they are swamped in email and the fact that it is a holiday month doesn't really help either.

If you can wait two years for a Pandora then surely you can wait Two Months :p for a permission to release a port.
