It might be a moral downfall of sorts, but financially I'd hazard they are still in the black. Very very black. i.e making a shit load of money.
Tell me any games that are spyware, I don't know of any. Gamers get fucking OUTRAGED if any game or service (e.g. Origin) is shown to be spyware. Even when it turns out it's not actually doing significant spying.
