Gngeo2x 0.6.12

Wow.

Nice increase in speed with SSVS, Garou, SNK VS CAP and KOF 2003.

Holy crap, SNK VS CAP runs too fast at 266mhz! I'm going to have to start taking the processor down now!

I bow down to Pepone, Squidge & Paern....

Team PSP!

:D

... I just got my ass kicked because Samurai Shodown 4 now runs faster with sound at 244mhz than it was running at 260mhz without sound.

Now you'll have to write a frame limiter :)

Oh, and btw..

Thanks A LOT Squidge. That hack is godlike..

The framelimitter is already here. just be sure to have autoframeskip to true in your conf/gngeorc.
If you put showfps also to true, you should see that it never go beyond 60fps.

You know, this is why I like the GP2X, the scene, everything.

When MAME first came out (almost) 10 years ago, it was created by a few individuals for the love of the games. Not greed, market share, or profitibility. Today, it still grows and grows, expanding to other devices and consoles.

Here we have a great group of hard working people, busting their asses for little or no profit so all of us can enjoy some arcade memories on the GP2X. Half a year in, we have fullspeed NeoGeo emulator for this handheld, that can play all the AES/MVS games.

So Sony, with your PSP which you firmware update so people can't enjoy their memories. Stick it. The GP2X is freedom baby, yeah.

To Gamepark Holdings, you bunch of crazy Korean nutters, I salute you for making this handheld console, the king of emulation and hombrew.

There, that's off my chest.

Wow! Real speed boost here - before Metal Slug X would drop frames all over the place with no sound at 240Mhz (about the most I can O/C) but now it's waaaaay smoother.

Anyhoo, how much more d'you think there is to optimise? Only I'd say one more speed boost like that last one and I'll be getting full-speed with sound @ 11Khz! Which'd be amazing!

EDIT: Just tried Metal Slug 5, fully believing it'd run like a pig and it plays brilliantly! I can't believe how smooth it is with sound on! Crashes at the start of level 2, but up until then I was amazed!

Many thanks from me. Truely impressed with efforts. I hope I can be equal to it in my developments :)

Well, most of the games I was playing were pretty much full speed with the last update, so I guess I'll have to try some of the more demanding games now :D

Thanks for the hard work pepone & Squidge!

Thanks for this release, it is amasing, as allways ^^. Just a quick question : i tried the tv out fonction but it didn't work with the 0.6.12 (previous release, i only see the half screen), i tried the tv out fixxer but...nothing. Do you think tv out will be possible?, this would be awesome ! ^^.

edit : oh, and btw, i have an iso of kof 2003 but i can't manage to dump the gfx (it is only *.bin files), i have the same problem fo a lot of other roms (svc, mslug4....) if someone know how to do......

Just tried redumping my mslug3 rom with the new dumpgfx windows program and it says it can't load the zip. I've tried 3 different sources for the zip, too. Poot.

The romrc file is present in the same folders that dumpgfx?
You launch it from a command line?

Yuppers. That said, if I try and load it directly into the emulator it says it's a bad dump it doesn't recognise.

I should explain, I got my mslug3.zip and mslug3.gfx for 6.11 from one place, but as it was pre-dumped the original graphics rom files weren't in the zip. As a result, I've had to source a new mslug3.zip from elsewhere to try and redump it.
