More Gp2x In The Press

Good job Fluffy, I wasnt aware that the 'official' UK release date was May 18th since I've had mine since the release date, i wonder if theres going to be any kind of advertising.

The two processors are housed on a SoC (system on a chip). They are both separate processors, but on one chip. Each of them is clocked at 200MHz (100 on the menu) but craigix says that he's never seen a unit that can't go to 240.

so in essence this could be classed as a cut down dual core portable games machine....for marketing ?

Yep the press release isn't perfect, I did correct them on a few things but I guess this is what you get using PR companies, in one report they said the screen was 320x240mm!

See, it could have been worse ;)

 I'd love to see someone fit a 32 cm wide screen on a handheld. Do people not proof read anymore? Lets see, geek.com and a gaming site... You'd think they'd know better :)

Care to tell us who the offender was so we can all point and laugh?

This may seem like a silly thing to say, but hasn't the GP2X been out in the UK for a while now? Surely this is just the launch of the Mk.2?

I also don't like how that article states it is to compete with the PSP. Fair enough it can compete in music and movies, but not games. I mean obviously most people buy the GP2X for emulation, but that's what it's aimed for, not for graphically amazing 3d games like the PSP is.

heck, it’s like a PSP lite.
Ugh.
Yeah, made me cringe too.

I think they must be biased somewhat. So it's better than a DS, but worse than a PSP. Isn't the DS kicking the PSP's arse at the moment? Personally, I think the PSP is pretty pointless, the DS is funky as hell for commercial games and the GP2x wins in all the other fields.

Then again, I'm biased too ;)

Oh, and nickspoon, great avatar.

another and another

The press just keeps on coming. I'd love to see a graph of the sales figures by month.

The second article links to the Gamepark website not GPH......

For a truly retro experience, you can also connect it up to your TV and play your games cross-legged on the hearth rug. - Sara Wallen
