Uae4all Amiga Emulator Port To Gp2x

Assuming the latest cyclone will work and not be a nightmare to intergrate, this emu is looking really really exciting :)

Erm... I believe squidge looked at cyclone before, and found it somewhat less than compatible. I could look at that next, although it'd be interesting to add sound into the mix to see how that works...

I downloaded the updated archive and although the folder says 0.2 the actual gpe file has the same timestamp as the older file and none of the changes seem to be in place.

I've sorted it out now - thanks for the heads up Iorgy77.

It's at http://www.vividvillage.com/

I compiled it again especially for you :)

Another great release critical!

All the new feature work perfectly, finally i can play gods on gp2x :)

Just one thing, it still crashes when you exit the emu - not that im complaining though.

Great work!! B)

also trying now... Thought id start a little compatabilit list:

All at 200mhz

EDIT: superfrog - runs little slow but playable i think (my standards are prettyl low though il play anything)

barbarian - get a black screen after the cracked screen (may just have been loading, bit impatient)

bills tomato game - gets to title but graphoc glitches and cant move mouse pointer

fire & ice - take a long time to load including a second disc but eventually gets to game, plays quite slow but working!

Shadow of th Beast 2 - plays good speed, little slow when multiple enemys , film bit at start plays full speed.

Wonderboy in monsterland - plays slowly unplayable i think. works though.

Populous - gets to title, no mouse to select start game

shufflepuck cafe - works pretty slow and hard to do with joystick

VRoom - works no way to accelerate , hard to jusdge speed when you cant move

wizball - get a blue screen but no further

Worms - gets to menu but no mouse to select start.

Dizzy collection - needs keyboard to select game

Heimdahll 2 - needs mouse to select flag, god i want to select the flag...

Syndicate - works up till menu where you need mouse/ keyboard

Alien Breed - goes black when disk 2 is loading

Frogger - blue screen from start

Robocop - works slow

sabre team - need f keys to select difficulty

god better get to bed ill test more tomorow

north and south works a little slow but playable.

ports of call hangs at a greenish blue screen

edit: bubble bobble works nicely at playable speed! wuhuw

still...cool stuff. really.

Wow this new version works really well. Superfrog plays well on fs2. I've got stuck in my long term addiction of superfrog again. (I have this obsession of where I begin to play superfrog i can't stop.)

Zool loaded albeit VERY slowly. I lost count after about 15 minutes. After that it played just slightly slower on fs2 so I didn't even bother playing more than a level just to test.

Maybe squidge could have a look at the code and see if he could implement the changes from E-UAE into uae4all. Other from that I guess we put our hopes into the new cyclone core :p

Good job to chui on this

So, I understand the Amiga had a version of X-Com, Has anyone tried to see if it can run with this EMU? (Sorry if this is an absurd question.)

yeh x-com on the amiga at least in britain was called ufo - enemy unknown i havnt got the rom cos i still play it on cd32 but its probably my fave game of all time

This is stock 200mhz ...

Prince of Persia - Loads ... but your guy starts out frozen despite that the torches flicker.

Battle Squadron - Runs too slow to be effectively playable, but works!

Ork Attack - Locks up loading on track 10, black screen.

Mortal Kombat - After a million disc swaps, it resets ...

Smash TV - heavy frame skip, but plays.

Agony - Slow of failed to load.

Shadow of the Beast - can't get by intro crack without a full mouse.

Oh hell yes, this is a great start, found the 512 kick rom and Turrican fired right up. There are so many great Amiga games!
Thanks for the great work Critical!

I think that both X-Com (ufo - enemy unknown) and Pirates! used the mouse, so even if they did run (which I don't know), you'd be unable to interact with them at present.

Mouse emulation is entirely possible, however. I might look at it when I'm fixing the exit option so that it works properly (I hear you, Dastardly) :)

Thanks for those of you that are testing (keep up the good work, Feddon) and providing feedback - I won't know what to change/fix unless you tell me, as I haven't got any time to actually play anything at the moment.

The games compatibility list should probably be migrated to the wiki, as is it for the NeoGeo emu, etc. Don't bother testing AGA games, as I'm sure they won't work.

I will probably look at using the hardware accelerated SDL libs that Paeryn came up with next.

My pleasure. As soon as I've got my gp2x working again I'll be testing loads :) Thank you for releasing this emulator, I hope you will do great things with it.

Very nice, I was greatly looking forward to seeing something like this :)

Sadly, both of the games I was looking forward to trying die straight after the crack menu. I was wondering, will it be possible to improve compatibility, or is the current compatibility what it'll stick at (without having to dive deep into the emulator)

Nonetheless, excelent stuff :)
