Here's an interesting mock up i found for size comparison:

Just seen that on the niontendo europe site so thats defintly it..

Its a bit disappointingm looks a bit better but thought they might do more rthan make it slightly smaller and ipod white it.. was hoping for a bit more in the ergonmics like rounded sides.

was only a matter of time, i knew it. when i first got my DS the first thing i though was "couldnt they make it a tad smaller" and here we are. looks pretty much exactly the same though which is kinda dull, but is muchly necessary imo.

bah, i think this is cheap and nasty .. i liked the 'foldup wings' design that was going around much better .. i wish they'd done that instead ..

my thumbs are filling up with cramp just looking at those redesign pics, i dont want it smaller, i just want better button layout. i wont buy one. <_<

Hm, I still prefer my old DS. I guess the size is pretty good and will fit better in my pockets but it seems like I'll have to pass.

Slick. I don't like the white. Give me that amazing red color like the Revolution mockup. I think it's sweet; love the micro influence in the design, and it being smaller and thinner is very welcome. Very excited about this. :D

I like that design. The only gripe i have with the current one is the size. This one looks like its just small enough to make me happy. Its kinda a double-edged sword: on one hand the larger design is easier to use, but on the other hand its just a tad too bulky.

happy owner of the Mario Kart edition :)

redesign should of been held off... it's not too much of an improvment, sure it's smaller, but the normal DS is a good size

but redisgning early and often seems to be the life blood of nintendo. now with 4 versions of the GBA, original, SP fl, SP bl, and micro, changing the DS this early could let them redesign it maybe 8 times in its life span and people will continue to buy it. How many people do you know have the original GBA and a SP? or an SP and a micro, or vice versa. Nintendo is not stupid, they're going to do what works with their handhelds, though the DS is not obsolete, they seem to make quite a bit of money rehashing obsolete hardware into a new shell.

I've said many times that I've been waiting for a DS redesign.
...I guess now I can say I'm waiting for *the next* DS redesign.

maybe I'll wait for the last redesign--you know, the good one that comes out long after the Evolution is released.

*curses nintendo for orphaning his beloved micro*
hey, anybody ever hear anything farther about the Nintendo Evolution? Or did that whole idea just go away?
