Gngeo2x 0.6.9 *update*

The Universe Bios 1.2 work great, but is there any chance we'll see 2.2 support (2.2 being the latest version) some time in the future? The latest version (available here) has the option to restore the fatalities/No Contest-moves to Samurai Shodown 5 Special and cheats for some of the later games, among other things (which weren't included in 1.2). :D I tried it out, but only got a black screen (which I let load for a while, just to be sure) after all the files had loaded.

I had sent a PM to pepone regarding the uni-bios files as well as a few other questions so hopefully he'll either post more info here. If he doesn't and I hear back first I'll post up what he said. :)

Have heard back from pepone.

He's said that he hasn't tried the uni-bios' before with gngeo, so he will be checking to see what he can do to support it's features. He also said he would look at incorporating memory card support as uni-bios 1.3 saves it's settings on a memory card, so the support would be welcome. :)

On a seperate note, hear's something I forgot to mention in my earlier postings. If you haven't already, try the jukebox feature on the uni-bios 1.2 or 1.3. At first it fails to work with your rom, but if you persist in pressing "A" after each time it fails then 5 or 6 goes later it works. :D

since we're talking about the next wonderful release, could you make the exit combination easier or something? i seem to have to hammer L,R,and the stick at once loads before i actually exit. :(

other than that, of course, i love this emulator. i probably play it the most out of all the emulators.. getting a quick bash on metal slug seems to satisfy any moment of boredom ^_^

Just hold down right and press the stick button for a nice smooth exit. ;)

Left button is to enter the test mode.

cheers! i was wondering why it took so many presses xD i guess pressing L as well must have confused it. but L is pretty useful to turn on blood in metal slug and stuff..

Awesome, man! :D When my account allows (IE. when I get paid), I'll happily give a token of my appreciation. ;)

And thanks for the update, NeoStuey. :D

Here it is:

http://m.peponas.free.fr/gngeo/download/gngeo-0.6.9.tar.gz

What's new:
. Add universal bios support.
. Fix kof99 (and certainly kof98...)

For now, universal bios setting are not saved.

To activate unibios support, you can do as before (ie renaming uni-bios.rom to aes-bios.bin).
Or Brave people  can edit the gngeorc file and set "system" to "unibios"

I have to thanks Franxis, the author of mamegp2x, who point me in the right direction :)

And to think I only asked for this earlier today. :D

Is the comment about the bios settings not saving due to memory card not yet being supported in the emulator?
Yes.
It's just too late tonight to look at this. But as the compatibility is improved, I think it's worth to release it.

I wasn't expecting a release quite so soon, you caught me completely off guard! I would have been happy with a release in a few days time. You have a knack of exceeding my expectations.

uni-bios 2.2 is working in this latest release, excellent. :D.

The jukebox player seems to work first time now as well. :D

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you. :D

It took a long while to convince me to swap from using scripts to the selector, now I'm glad I did.

And now I've made my own fondo.png background to use with the selector instead of the green default one. Feel free to use it. Download here. :D

I hope you like it. B)
