Gngeo2x 0.6.9 *update*

Thanks for the reply pepone and Fishbong.
In the roms folder there is Neogeo BIOS unzipped (taken from a mame release) and some zipped roms.

Can you use a script like that:

#/bin/sh
cd /mnt/sd/gngeo
exec /mnt/sd/gngeo/gngeo.gpe path/to/your/rom.zip 1> gngeo.log.txt 2>&1

And show us the content of gngeo.log.txt, please?

My ROMS are placed in gngeo/roms folder
so my script should be sth like this? : #/bin/sh
cd /mnt/sd/gngeo
exec /mnt/sd/gngeo/gngeo.gpe roms/mslug.zip 1> gngeo.log.txt 2>&1 ?

i'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but in that script, does the "roms" name refer to the roms directory in the root of the sd? or the roms directory in the gngeo directory?

also, what encoding should i use for the script in notepad? utf 8? unicode?

again, sorry, i've never written scripts or anything like this.

edit: oops, sorry, didn't read the rest of the thread properly. i'll try again..

nice, this is a really great emulator as it is - the neo geo is a wonderful system. even games like winning stakes 2 are fun! ^_^ anyway, does windjammers work yet? and is shock troopers 2 too large?

again, thanks for your great work on this one. :D

I love this. Samurai Shodown 2 runs full speed with sound @266. A little slow down here and there but man, my favorite fighting game on the go. Thank you pepone. If you have a paypal address I would donate.

Hello!

A new version is available.
It's a simple bug fix release, but as it add samourai shodown support... :D
In general, the compatibility should be better now.

grab it here:

Phew!!

Just got through updating the wiki page for the second time tonight  did a big list of compatible 0.6.6 titles, come here to tell you and wham there's a new release 0.6.6a.

There are loads of working titles now! :D Check it out guys. THE WIKI PAGE

Anyone running their Neogeo roms through mame2x should really try this emulator the sound is better and it feels smoother and the button mapping is already correct.

Excellent work pepone, can you tell us how your progress is going in enabling the bigger roms to run. Also you don't seem to have a donation button on your homepage, I think you should consider setting one up. :D

Pepone, do you plan on standardizing and using the latest MAME compatible ROM dumps? As it currently stands it’s going to be very difficult for people to find the right ROMs to use. Additionally if I’m not mistaken the latest GnGeo already does this which is why I’m kinda surprised this port doesn’t.

Well, I don't quite follow regulary the "mame's rom dump evolution", so I certainly missed something.

Ok, I think I found it, the change did occure in mame 0.80, right?
It shouldn't be too hard to fix hopefully.

Which roms are affected?

Depending on the source, the romsets are different. If you have old roms, the current version of mame wants you to update them using clrmame. Some older, far outdated sites still have the old romsets.
