Am I the only one who thinks he looks gay with a gaping headphone jack for an ass? Anyway, I wouldn't use a penguin as that's the linux mascotte. Maybe some other cute animal would be better.

Still, very cool pictures :)
Hear hear. I think I saw an XXX flick about that... Not penquins, mind you, but "plug" and "ass" were prominent features. Nothing "gay", mind...

OOOhh, that looks sooo kawaii!
But i never saw a GP32 with a X and Y Button! Isnt A+B better?

It`s the mascot for the GP2x, Not the GP32.
That's the problem, it's not the gp2x mascot it's the gp32x mascot which is a site for both the gp32 and the gp2x (read the original post again, it even talks about it being the gp32 mascot). I really like all versions of it, but I don't think it should be the gp32x mascot as it implies that the gp32 also uses linux as it's main os.

Fuck. Couldn't you have kept that to yourself. Now I can't look at the Penguin in the same way anymore.

Could we have headphone jacks where his ears should be, thus symbolising the sense of sound that you awaken with the use of the gp2x's music player?

I agree about the ass rape issue.

I also think his name should be GPinguX or GPingu

Seriously, that hole is just wrong, that was the first thought that came to mind when I saw it. It just looks wrong. Replace it with a tail or something.

Not so much a tail, as their body tends to angle outward at hte bottom. It's LIKE a tail only very very short and wide. It just gets pointier toward the back. However a penguins butt doesn't go flat, or round. It's pointier...only way I can describe it.

your all very sick individuals thinking about a cartoon penguin being some rape victim... seriously... its a drawing you weirdos

anyways, I prefer the speaker one

Well...

But isn't obvious that putting this "headphone jack hole" in a place we call an *ss is a very suggesting?

It's still a cute mascot even with this "hole" btw.

I`ve also never been a great fan of Linux and I always hated that Tux penguin, but this is still better than having no mascot at all...

GPenguin ... with an asshole ... and a battery cover ... we have to keep him running somehow, and he's already got a mouth ...

it's very important to have mascots and heros in your life, to serve as role models and offer you strength.

How about we put the battery cover where the ass is, and the speaker / joystick up top?

I agree, speaker cover where his arsehole is.

I think the Jack plug is smart, although I'm getting a tellytubbies feeling from the whole thing.

Here is an idea -
How about two of them forming the mascot?

- (example) -
GPengu - with D-Pad, mischievious and making trouble
GPengo - with speaker, always trying to keep his brother out of trouble :)

One could have A,B buttons, and the other X,Y :p

I like the speaker grille and GPengo but shouldn't the grille be 4 ovals like the GP2x?
Yes, but I had to simplify it a bit. That many dots would look out of place with the rest of the design, and be hard to see at smaller sizes!
That's a great idea!
They're all very cute and will suit perfectly well as mascots for the GP-whatever :p
Perfect wink to Linux ;)
