I'm expecting from 4 to 8 hours on my 2500mah ni-mh depending on what I use.

*looks at his 2000mAh batteries* Lets hope you are wrong and it is higher.

I mean sure I could live with 4-6 hours of battery life, but I want to over clock this baby and work it to the bone. Plus who the heck quotes battery life while using high power recharable batteries? I thought companys always quote battery life using standard alkalines. So I was perdicting 10 hours with these batteries.

Anyone else notice how loud the click is on the joypad, or is it just my speakers? I can imagine people on planes and whatnot getting annoyed by loud clicking..

^you mean when he clicks *down* on the joypad? Its not from moving it, its like the PlaySation controller that you can click down on.

I don't understand why you guys are getting so riled up about boot times from a beta OS, sure it will be improved and as someone has said already it's probably in dev mode. All the speculation is a waste just wait for it to arrive.

Secondly, I was under the impression that the video function had the capability to do subtitles, so I'm trying to figure "Were the subtitles rendered or encoded?" because the Advent Children title ran off the edge of the screen despite the fact that the video looked appropriately rendered.

They were rendered. The .smi file in the Advent Children folder is the subs file. Hopefully there will be some options regarding softsub formatting in the media player so we can get them to display properly.

All in all, a great video. The menus look very slick.

Why would they put a button on the d-pad anyway. I don't see any instances where the 4 face buttons, the start & select button, and the 2 triggers aren't going to be enough buttons to play a game. Especialy consitering that the GP2X can't do complex 3D and most people are just going to be running NES, SNES, MS, Genesis, & Metal Slug emulators.

The boottime was a little slow but unless you plan on turning on the GP2X, playing for 2 minutes, than turning it off again, and than turning it on again to play for another 2 minutes it shouldn't be that big of a deal.
