Compatibility List For New Drmd

Whish:
6 button controller suport or posibility to config select button, L button & R button.

Other tan that... awesome work! :)

I'd just like to also say that DrMD is truely impressive, thanks for all the time you've spent on it Reesy, looks very polished already.

I do also have one game that doesn't work if you're interested, its hardly suprising, but "Themepark" loads and just hangs, I _think_ there is a line after "unzipping", something about "byte" but then that might be normal and I hadn't noticed.

Anyway just wanted to say again: thanks for a great emulator.

just black screen after rom load (no Sega logo):
Gaiares

Gaiares works if you press start during the black screen which skips the Sega logo (I presume) and the game works nigh on perfectly after that.

Comix Zone seems to crash just after the level name is displated yet the music seems to carry on playing ... sort of.

The Story of Thor has some weird graphics glitching at the top and bottom of the screen. It seems as if it doesn't know what resolution it wants to be and the black lines that would be there for a lower resolution game (i.e the difference in resolution of Streets of Rage 2 and Streets of Rage 3) appear in certain areas. I don't think this happened in the previous Dr Md release.

Contra - Hard Corps has really messed up scrolling. You'll have to try it yourself to see.

Thanks for this update Reesy - Had a quick play earler and it seems damn fine! My girlfriend pointed out that World Of Illusion now has sound, so she is happy! :D

Merry Christmas!

Castlevania Bloodlines with sound and save along with Beyond Oasis in excellent working condition. Reesy- you have made me a very happy man. All thats left is shining force and comix zone and I will enter a pure state of Nirvana :) Don't know if its possible to make these games work, but frankly I don't care all that much. This emu is fantastic as is- damn fine work

Very nice work!

I don't post here much at all, but this is absolutely stunning, I just can't get over it.

Thanks for all your hard work - time for me to upgrade to a BLU unit now I think :D

I'm not going to add sub directory support but I will make the rom list wrap around.  I don't like sub directorys they are a pain in the ass.

Ok, The wrap will be a good compromise. The wrap could also be used in the emu settings menu too (I am lazy ;) ) if it isn't a pain. Hopefully the SMC will be full before the 512 file limit is reached, it should be I think.

The pallette problems in Sonic 2 are not fixable, without making the emulator crawl to a stand still.  In Sonic 1,2,3 the water effect is achieved by changing the pallette halfway through the frame.  Because of the way the GP32 LCD updates, ie vertical line by vertical rather than by horizontal line by horizontal line you can not just update the pallette on every line, you would have to update it every pixel .  This is where 16bit rendering mode is best, because each pixel holds the colour value rather than a index to a colour in the pallette.

Reesy

That makes sense. I was unaware that the GP32 scans the screen at 90 deg from "normal" displays.

Would it be possible for the emu to ignore pallette switches in the middle of the screen? Something like any scanline pallete changes would only be allowed or ignored until after the entire screen is rendered first. This would fix the flickering. I don't know how hard it would be from a code standpoint though, if possible at all.

Brilliant!
Stunning!!
Amazing!!!
Awesome!!!!

(and now, in an attempt not to seem picky or ungrateful, normal-sized fonts):

Kid Chameleon's sound is off, almost as if it is in super-slow motion (sorta..)

Someone in the near future is going to post this, so I might as well do it now.

Sonic Crackers - Don't be fooled, it does work, but it requires time to get out of the freeze. Once you see the SEGA logo shooting in, when you have the chance, immediatly press START, once in the menu, press START immediatly again, and there ya go.

Like I said in the other topic, the music is a bit slow, and the DOC chip is not emulated yet, but damn i'm having sooo much fuun.

ABC roms - quick compatibility test :D

All games tested 166mhz, 8 bit, PSG and FM - GP32 Blu

Can some people with the original (non BLU+) versions try to play DrMD with the fix for the gray bar enabled?

If it works with the original then it could be just set as default?

Um, I have a BLU (not the new batch) .. the settings are for "Samsung" or "Taiwanese" ... if I change it to "Taiwanese", it goofs up the display ... it creates what looks like dithered scanlines, and shifts the display up and to the right.

GUYS!!! Thanks for the tip now got Gaiares working fine! Just pressing start when it first starts up, comes up fine now... thanks again guys one of my favorite genesis shooters!!!

Loving this GP man even though it's a 'faulty' one!

Quick question, can you erase save states? I dont mean just from in the emu... dont think its in there, but rather, where do the savestates store on the card when I look it up on the computer?

How large are they usually?

Saves are held in \GPMM\DRMD, they are compressed so their size can vary. But on average around they are around 50K.

Excellent!

All the games I tried run nicely at 144Mhz.
Streets of Rage 3 sounds perfect, theres no voices, but otherwise its perfect!!

Also just so you know, theres some wierd sound stuff going on when i play vectorman. It makes this wierd screeching sound every once in a while and the music doesnt work.
But it runs smoothly!

Thank You Very Much!!!

:D
