The Communication Cube

So the UK govt. Health Sec. is (or was a few minutes ago) giving a speech in Parliament about how much we must all continue to band together and act responsibly to fight Covid-19, he was praising the emergency services for their phenomenal work and how much we owe them for it.

What was his PM doing when avoiding the debate about Owen Paterson / Tory corruption? Attending a hospital ward, mingling with medical staff. Was he wearing a mask? Take a wild guess... :-|| Or at COP26 before that?

Come to think of it, neither was the Queen at one of her most recent events :-||

EDIT: Meant to post this in the Covid thread

I noticed that the Whislist for my next Car gets quite Big:
- All Wheel Drive and Steering
- Radio whit DAB+ and Bluetooth (whit Shuffle)..
- Electric Engine, somewhere around 600 km Range, but dosnt need a Top Speed of more than 200 kmh
- some sort of Mini Van, like my Doplo, ..
- Trailer Connector..
- Some sort of Autonomic Driving so i could speek in my Whatch : "Hey dude, take me from here", and my Car will come to me ^^

I don't think shuffle can be implemented on DAB+ because that's just a radio station. The output of radio stations tends to be quite shuffled already (although I do tend to listen to programmes that don't follow the station playlist for that reason), but you can't reshuffle them. Similarly bluetooth A2DP+ because that evolved from headset audio codecs, but whatever's creating that bluetooth connection would be able to shuffle tracks before it transmits them via bluetooth, but that's not something you car does, it's all in your phone or what have you.

600km is a long way that would need a lot of batteries to run an electric motor for. The most I've heard on new cars is 400km, althogh it's far to say a mini van would have more load capacity for more batteries. Or maybe space for liquified hydroogen in tanks which gets uncompressed and fed through a fuel cell creating electricity which can turn a motor,

And I'm not sure that cars that drive to you to pick you up are going to come any time soon. We still need to work out who's to blame if it runs over a pedestrian in the activity of getting to you.

The Shuffle where more for the Bluetooth Feature, allthough my Phone (or Mp3 Player) dit the Shuffle and the Bluetooth just brings the Musik from the Phone to the Radio ^^,
I know that DAB+ or FM Can get shuffled..
A long range would mean you dont need to load up the Batterie that often, so the current for charging dont have to be that big,
Usually i have about 20 km per Day, but some times to drive a bit wider ..
so if i put it on charge on weekend would be good..

This is also just a Whishlist, i know my Doblo is not the Envroivment Friendly Car whit its 3 L Diesel Engine (Euro 5), but its good enough for me at the moment..

but my next car needs DAB+, and Bluetooth, but its nothing i would buy in a few 2 Months (tm) Cycles..

Whe need a Tesla Cyber Van ^^

ACK

I've heard 1000km range, but I don't understand why that'd be needed:
GAC Aion almost there
A mildly modifed Tesla endured 1000 slow km once
Unmodified Hyundai Kona made 1000 slow km on a circuit
Huawei claims
And the promised 1600 km range Aptera

I wish you're right. I'm more pessimistic and fear that sometime soon the pedestrian will get uninsured for failing to opt out of being run over at some remote web forms in every car manufacturer's web site where he can buy the radio beacons for the different brands he should have been carrying in his backpack if daring to get near public roads at all.

I liked Kitt much more ^^
Like I said it’s a Whishlist, would be cool but as I have Driving License for every thing over 2 Wheels (expect of Big Bikes over 125 ccm) im happy when i can drive myself…

My Fiat Doblo is not the best car, but at least whit the FM Transmitter it’s got one Part from the Whishlist.. ^^
600 km is something, it would cool to have, not that realistic..
maybe the Hypothetical „ Cybervan“ might have these things..

When I have a Full Tank, my Car shows a Range over 600 km , allthought it’s depends on my Driving prozedure: when I let the 135 horses run, it’s not that far ^^

The 2 best features of this car: I can open and close the windows whit my Remote Controll Key, and the can take off my Pullover when I sit on the driver seat as a there is that much space above my head ^^

In terms of suspending systemd, is anyone here willing to explain to a NOOB how s2idle works? I did try a brief search in DDG but didn’t get any wiser aha

Yes, just because you can do that in your petrol car doesn't mean you need to do that same in your electric van. Don't forget you can plug your van in every night, so you only need a day's charge on it. And when your on the motorway going places on a longer journey you can plug it in there and get a coffee while you wait for it to charge.

s2idle has nothing to do with systemd. It's an intel sleep mode, and is bascially the least sleep you can do, less than suspend and less than sleep-to-RAM. I think it's basically a system on but not doing anything right now type of idle sleep.

Intel?! But a MR was just submitted to PureOS to enable s2idle for the Librem 5?

My Idea was : The more Range the less Charging Cycles would it need, and you dont need to Charge every evening, so maybe over the Weekend at day when the Sun shines on your Solar Module, so you drive whit Green Energy ^^

Apropo Charging: My long Third Party Iphone Charging Cable in my Bedroom failed, so this means i will put my Iphone over Night again on the Station and use my Pyra more often for Internet things ^^, and the Switch for Youtube..

There are no Ads, i have Premium ^^ At least i dont need a Long Apple Lightning Cable and i have now a few of these Switch USB C Chargers^^

The Only big issue is that its sometime gets some trouble when you watch in 2 times speed
