The Communication Cube

Today is US Labor Day. To celebrate, I’m not doing any labor. Don’t laugh, that’s how everyone else here celebrates it too.

Reincarnation makes sense to me, because if you only live one life, the probability that you are alive at any given moment is extremely low.
What exactly makes that more unlikely than the opposite? The only reason to believe in reincarnation is some homely belief that the soul is indivisible and eternal, and not just a by-product of the brains operation. But to be honest what's the point of a soul without memories and experiences? Since we start knowing very little and basically have to learn our way into life, that suggests that's not part of some indefatigable soul but to be that diminishes the point of having a soul at all.

But to be honest what's the point of a soul without memories and experiences?
You crazy? When you're a tapeworm with a good attitude, you may get to be a grasshopper next. I wouldn't wanna live in a world were my character level gets reset every round.
And think about it. What good would all that species eradication be, if not to ensmallen the room for descent net lifting all of us - the killed off souls included.?

There is a practically infinite supply of rats and bacteria though.
They're occupied or they wouldn't be. The best thing we could do would be to make this planet inhabitable. This would force all our souls into the spiritual kingdom. No more living in the dirt and such.

I haven’t been subscribed to Ancestry in a long time, but they still send me emails, and today’s was a fun one. They found my dad’s maternal grandmother’s death certificate. Age 36, cause of death: Gunshot wound in abdomen, fired with suicidal intent while temporarily insane. I mean, my dad already told me about this, but it’s fun to see in writing.

You know, I don’t have long to go until age 36. Maybe I’ll get to join the 36 club.

Well, my pet theory is that she was trying to sterilize herself. I can’t see all the details because I’m not an Ancestry subscriber right now, but I think she was married at age 19 and had something like a dozen kids before dying.
