The Communication Cube

Im a bit pissed about my Younger Self: I had Computers since the 1990thes, DOS, WINDOWS 95, 2000, XP, 7 , 10, and i dit a lot PC Gaming in my Youth , but i was quite lazzy whit my Game CD ROMS, in fact, when i installed them on my Computer, i put the CD on the Tower in a stasch.. , not back in the CD Package, so some got stratched, and some got lost like the GTA Vice City Play CD ROM,
I also had to buy some of them new like Jedi Academy or Vice City alltought i allready own the Games..

I hope in my Chrismass Vacations, i will have the time to search for them and put them back in the CD Case..

It might be better now, at least the XBOX ONE Disks got put back in its Case, but its still a long way to go..

I don’t know of any place that sells them anymore.

Plus, without emulation, you can’t really play the foreign stuff.

so some got stratched
Run them under warm water on the non-label side to dissolve any residue on there, then squirt a ring of toothpaste near the hole in the middle, all around it, and work that to the outside with your thumb, that action polishes it and leaves any scratches running across the data tracks so normally resolvable by error correction. I've saved a number of old CDs and DVDs this way, although scratched Wii game discs for some reason don't like this, but plain PC CD and DVD-ROMs haven't been hurt at all doing this. Neither have my scratched Wii games either to be honest, it has resolved the problem of the scratches, just they wouldn't read before and they still won't.

Im a bit pissed about my Younger Self:
Not your parents, for not teaching you that you need to handle things with care? (not throw the queenbee in the new hive, carefully place LP's without touching nor bending, not shake CD readers while the CD is spinning inside, etc)

I'm gonna upgrade my home network, WIFI first by getting a separate router. What features should I be looking for: WIFI 6, an x in there somwhere, Dual Band, 5GHz and other stuff?

I followed some advice on routersecurity.org and smallnetbuilder.com - found those two to be especially useful resources. Combining that with a FSF-endorsed* router such as can be found on ThinkPenguin.com seems like a pretty good way to go. GL.iNet also seems to be quite well respected, though doesn’t have a FSF* endorsement.

*EDIT: Of course, I meant RYF not FSF :$xD

Skyrim for Switch is on sale again, and I'm having flashbacks to playing it on PS4. I hated the fact that your character has to sleep regularly. Now, obviously games with zero resemblance to real life can't be fun (just see Tetris), but there also has to be a limit to realism in my opinion. As long as we have dragons, would it be too much to ask to stay up all night? This is why I need a PC with a graphics card, for a nice Skyrim insomnia mod.

I was just thinking about this drug trip account I read a few weeks ago.

He says he lived through an entire past life, but later realized it never actually existed. Makes me wonder, how do I know I'm not tripping balls right now? @Null Get out of my trip.

I wonder about all of my near-death and afterlife research too. Specifically, I'm reminded of that one part of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where...

Arthur finds out that the Earth was created for a special purpose, and says, "I always thought we were part of something larger than ourselves." Then Ford says, "Oh no, everyone in the universe has that, it's called paranoia."

Oh man, when the most messed up part of your drug trip is the dream you had weeks afterward.

Returning from the bathroom, I walked into an empty classroom. The back door was open, though, and sun and breeze were streaming in. It was eerily quiet. I stepped out the back door to find the bodies of my classmates strewn all over the lawn, bloody, dead. Only a couple were still alive, catatonic, carefully loading the bodies into a sport-utility. I stood there in shock, watching the scene, trying to figure out what had happened, when I realized I was being watched. It was her, the beautiful girl, Parvati/Kali. She looked at me with the slightest of smiles, wide eyes, arms and palms turned out towards me, presenting the entire scene to me. With that gaze, I instantly realized she had done this, she did it as a lesson for me, she was trying to show me how beautiful death can be, she killed these children to teach me and to teach them the beauty and value of both life and death. She freed them, she let them go, she returned them to the eternal all-pervasive universal consciousness. It was a gift, her gift, her eternal timeless lesson to us, to not hold on so tightly to such a precious gift as life and overlook the precious gift that is death.

Tropical Storm Grace has formed, meaning we have Fred and Grace at the same time now. Still kinda yawning here, considering that we had five named storms on the seas at the same time at one point last season.

I should probably inform you guys, due to a personal emergency, I went ahead and requested a refund of my Pyra preorder. I plan to leave the forums as soon as it's processed, since I can't really justify being here without a Pyra or Pandora, or at least a GPH device.
