GPD WIN 2

I really do dislike YouTube "personalities"
Isn´t that just like any other personality on any media?
Ugh, not even close! There's something unique about the type of presenter that get the most views on youtube, and there seems to be a race going on to become the most inane idiotic presenter out there, since that seems to be a common feature in a lot of these people. They're like pop radio breakfast DJs but even dumber and more annoying. The only youtube 'personality' I subscribe to is Dave@EEVBlog, who can have a bit of an annoying accent at times, but at least talks sense almost all of the time.

Maybe ED should do guest spots & do show & tells on each channel.

Don´t send units to tubers unless a close person with good relationship.

I can't find where it says when you're charged on the indigogo page. Is it immediately, right when the campaign ends, or when the WIN 2 ships?

I don't know either, but with most crowd funding models, it happens when the campaign ends because it's designed to fun the productisation of a prototype (or the publishing costs of a book, what have you). However, this is a flexible funding campaign, so they get the money even if it hadn't have reached the target, so it's possible they charge you before the campaign ends (since they then wouldn't need to refund you in any case)

I watch Linus Tech Tips from time to time, but my opinion is they're not very credible or reliable. Didn't they do a whole series on building a server room, only to use Windows Server as the OS?

Linus is not credible because he is a shill.
Also their server room is a joke.
Windows Server is implemented in every organization on this planet with more then 30 PC.
Like it or not, the Active Directory is the reason.
The alternative is Samba 4 and the functioning level of the Samba 4 LDAP domain is Windows NT.

The reason because Microsoft ARE Microsoft is their Server OS.

I just remember backing an indigogo once and it was taken out immediately and that's when I found out indigogo has a few times it can take the money.

If it's in the post-campaign on-demand mode that's basically like purchasing a shippable product, so that'll happen before it ships, which normally should just be a matter of days at most after you click order. Are you sure it wasn't on-demand when you hit the button?

Well, that´s not completely true.
The Active Directory is georgeous and I like it a lot, but Samba 4 is not Windows NT level.
At the moment, it´s feature level 2008R2 and going forward.
I´ve migrated quite a few customers up to 500 Users from Windows Server to Samba4 and they didn´t even notice, that they are running on BSD/ Linux now.
After migration, you can still manage your Samba Server with Microsoft RSAT Tools.

My Credit Card was charged immediately after pledging for the Win2 campaign.
Hmm, probably can't do the campaign then. I would have to buy it with credit and then pay it off when I sold my notebook. I'm on a bicycle tour and I have two problems with my notebook, even though it is only 15" it is probably the heaviest thing I carry and it is also awkward pulling it out to use, I need a desk to use it pretty much. The only thing I do on it that can't be done on my phone in edit video and since it is so awkward to use I don't even do that as much as I should.

Oh well, maybe paying interest on it for 4 months will be less than the 22 or 28 percent off on the indigogo? I need to do the math. I'm not a pro on credit either, not sure what that would do my credit score.

It seems GPD has shiped some more of the review units around the world:
I don't know this guy, but imho better than the one from Linus.

Oh no, not another one of these overly enthusiastic phonies...

@1:35 Inside? I expected him to unscrew the case at this point. Oh well :(

I'm no credit expert, but I'm pretty sure taking credit then paying it off gives you a credit history, and improves your credit score. Lenders don't actually like people with no credit history, it can sometimes be nearly as bad as having a bad credit history. The only way it can be bad is if you want to borrow while the debt is outstanding, but this is unlikely to make much of an impact unless it's something big like getting a mortgage. And even then, anything less than a grand is unlikely to make much of a difference.

That one isn't bad at all, explains features, hits the spectrum of capabilities and limitations very clearly. Good review.

People here don't know Austin, poor Austin, he is a huge youtuber. He did reviews on the GPD Pocket also that got millions of views

Yeah, I would need to let it ride on the card until I actually got the unit and could try it out for a month. So 5 months? I don't know how good having a balance on my card that long would look.

I just wanted to show that there are reviews between the Phawx and Linus.Furthermore that the ammount of preproduction units in the world is rising.
I've even found an other one, but it's not worth to mention. To short and no real content.
