I think what is really interesting about the sells figures is, that there are two handheld systems in the gaming world now. Before the PSP there was only Nintendo.

Sega Game Gear, Atari Lynx, NEC Turbo Express/PC Engine GT, Neo Geo Pocket, any of those ring a bell?
Maybe you mean "2 very well selling handhelds"
I think Nintendo has lost ground finally and I think the sells figures show that.
Very true.Mario kart > twisted metal.

The DS is selling even better than the GBA, so how exactly have they lost ground? It's been a massive, massive success bigger than anyone expected.
Sony are doing quite well, but their market is very different to Nintendo's. They're coexisting quite well -- "market share" only matters to megalomaniacs.
Isn't playability and gameplay the same thing in concept?...Twisted Metal, kicks the shit out of mario kart in terms of options, playability, chat, well, everything but the gameplay itself.

Though online PSP games probably are more mature than online NDS games (I haven't played a PSP game online). I wouldn't doubt it since there aren't many games that would take advantage of things like 'clans' on the NDS. Chat sounds nice, but it also leads to many many problems among immature players. I'm sure Nintendo will end up implementing it in some game in the future, though; it's not like the PSP online protocol is any more mature than NDS's.
the DS would be perfect for chat making the touch screen a virtual keyboard, i'm suprised it hasn't been done,...
