What would you like to see?

Just watched the dev board video with Iceweasel.. besides seeing a few of my posts fly by the screen ( and having that OH HEY THATS ME! :D moment!) I was highly impressed with the board.. then I realized a 1.5mhz processor is about the same as my laptop.. but this runs already a bit better then my last laptop sooo honestly I'm really looking forward to this! Can't wait for more optimization!

<_<   Note to sell don't type up things at 1:56... the boards will mock you. :D   :D

Deck the boards with boughs of mocking,
Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Tis the season to be jolly,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Don we now our mocking apparel,
Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Troll DrHax regarding his errors,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

See the blazing mock before us,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Strike the keyboard and join the chorus.
Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Follow me in merry measure,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

While I tell of tales of mistakes; what a treasure,
Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Fast away the old year passes,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Hail his mistakes, ye lads and lasses,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

Sing we joyous, all together,
Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.
Heedless of DrHAX's displeasure,

Fwa ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha.

...naw, I just kid, DrHAX.  Have a great day!

I laughed.I love you lunatics.

Don we now our mocking apparel,
My apparel is somewhat somber, yet practical.  It serves most purposes except where higher levels of specialised protection and such are needed, or when people expect some sort of formal attire (as defined by them) or uniforms.

This led me to think about something else I want to see.  It isn't something ED needs to bother with, since it isn't about Pyra performance yet.  Wearable computers and accessories have been discussed here before.  I am interested in things like this that will be usable with the Pyra and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I have looked at head mounted displays before, and don't feel that anything I found was practical for my intended use.  What I would like is something that doesn't draw too much attention or look too different from what an average person in Europe or North America would wear.  That means no Google Glass.  An outward facing camera would be nice, but I am sure that would add bulk and cost.  All I want is something simple that can possibly be mounted in something like sunglasses, but that does not interfere (much) with my ability to see.

Headphones are easy enough, and many now also feature a microphone.  Is there anything good out there that we might be able to use for general voice control of the Pyra that can learn or has high accuracy that won't slow things down too much?  I do have more specific ideas of what I want to do.  I am not sharing them yet because I need to think about them a bit more to decide if they are realistic and practical.

For additional input I had someone who was working on wearable options suggest the Twiddler line of products to me a while ago.  I don't know what search terms to use for finding other things of this nature.  Based on the results I got I would either prefer to go with something like the twiddler or a small wrist/forearm mounted keyboard, or just stick to voice and pull the Pyra out if I need to do something more.  Failing all of the above I suppose I could just look at mounting the Pyra on my arm.  Since I don't even like having wristwatches strapped to me, I am not too fond of the options that are like that.

Again, my main concerns are that it not be extremely obvious (unlike this guy) or difficult to use, and that it is somewhat affordable.

Seriously though, if we talking about wearable tech, I'm waiting for a good watch.

Somewhere between the four-function calculator/databank watches made by the likes of Casio and the beam-all-your-biometry-direct-to-facebook smartwatches from the likes of Apple and Samsung.

I want a watch that is user-programmable, has a keypad and a battery life in the months range. Radio stuff would be fine, but not at all necessary

That isn't too different from what the guy in the pic from serial experiments lain has, but I couldn't find something that showed it.  The display is different, but I think the guy in lain had everything else strapped to his back.  That is the opposite of what I want.

But just think of the muscle mass you'll gain!

I think a watch with a Pyra with a radio is a better companion than with a phone. A watch with a radio should be a companion to a tablet. I'm actually seeing less reason for a smartphone when there's better media and work devices. I just need something to carry 4g (etc) and camera. A watch would do. Unfortunately, google is limiting android wear which is limiting the hardware. Samsung is the only one that's doing something different hardware wise, but I don't want Tizen. IR would be a plus too. I doubt anyone will do a smartwatch with a physical keyboard. Lol  Month battery? Maybe with a E-ink watch.

I'm also wanting for someone to get smartglasses right.

I am naturally kinda skinny.  I was required to get all big and muscley at one time.  I hated it at the time because my body didn't work right anymore and it interfered with flexibility until I shrunk.  It also messed up my metabolism, but not by itself...my food situation has been odd at times ranging from "grazing" by eating very small "meals" throughout the day, and at other times barely eating because I would forget to get food when I was able to, usually due to being busy working on things.  I think that second one is why I started eating something whenever I had spare time.  Now I have fairly typical mealtimes.

Unless I was planning on being eaten muscle mass is not something I want.

Edit:

Natsu, the watch idea does not meet my requirements, and I would not go for anything in a wristwatch format.

Another edit:  Back to the "muscle mass" thing, I actually didn't think of it, but I regularly carry a lot of weight, but it doesn't do much.  I am not usually carrying a CRT monitor, though.

Hook up a USB DVD player.  Insert a music CD.  Rip to MP3.  Insert a DVD.  Rip it as well.  Time each - though I'm not expecting it to be super fast, more interested in seeing it do it.
Not sure when I can get to it, but seems easy enough.. I have capability of hitching the DVD drive via SATA or USB.
I'm having issue with getting my USB to SATA driver working on my devboard install.. It's detecting the drive, just not creating a proper device file for it like "/dev/sr0".. it could something with udev since my install uses that and I'm not entirely sure.. However that particular model of the JMicron USB to SATA adapter seems to be an issue for many people using Linux..

I have a couple other methods I can try, but have a research paper due tomorrow I need to hammer out.. as you can see my attention is clearly on that and not posting here on the boards.

Absolutely no rush.

I wonder if one of these would work on it?

Sub $20, but I have no idea what it uses internally as a USB-SATA adapter.

Is an adapter even neccessary? I thought the devboard has the sata connectior too?

Would like to see a little Video of the new Protoype Case, when its ready next week,

and mybe a bit comparation to the old Protoype Case..

And ED who shows, how to telefone whit the Pyra (dosnt need to telefone realy, just to show how it would look..)

Also maybe a couple seconds sitting next to a Pandora, to allow for comparisons of aspects that probably no one other than me cares about.
