What Are You Eating?

Running kills me, I can't run more than 15 minutes without wilting like an unwatered pansy

I'm on a diet so it's fish, salad and rice. *Must get back to 11 stone*

What's your BMI? I know those things are slightly flawed, but mine said I'm supposed to be 13 stone.

According to a fancy machine, I'm currently 13stone... but I have a lot of body fat still. That means I lost muscle?

I don't believe in any of that BMI/Calories/diet books stuff, it's all just invented to make dieting more complex and thus allow people to sell you more diet aid shit.

Essentially if I have a belly when I relax then I'm fat and it has to be removed. What always works for me is just eating as little fat as possible, ignore everything but the fat content when choosing foods and you will see the weight fall off in weeks. Drink as much sugar as you like. Actually I tend to replace the fat with sugar based drinks and I feel no 'pain' while on the diet. Brilliant.

Lost 1 stone so far. 1 more to go (the difficult one). Since I damaged my knee I can't run very far anymore (max 2-3 miles) so I have to watch what I eat. I am buying a bike though, but I hear it's no where near as good for you as running.

Well, my faith in the BMI was from my GP. I have a stupid trust in the NHS.

I lost about 2 stone over a few months once, but that slowed right down. I'm still losing weight, but over years instead of months.

I did it originally by giving up takeaway food, which I was eating a lot of.

I dropped meat completely last December and started to lose a bit (I was 14st 5 but 6'2") I have been cycling to work the last 3 months and I am now down to 13st 1. Not a dramatic loss over 3 months but a doddle to do. It's only 10 miles a day but it seems to have worked a treat. I would have lost even more but I tend to eat crap at the weekend like biccies etc.

Dinner last night was home made corn chowder with bacon and leftover corned beef chunks, crusty asiago bread paired with diced fresh tomato, basil and feta and the occasional piece of smoked salmon. Finished off with cheesecake. Leftovers are amazing.

BMI isn't a great way of measuring a healthy body weight, it's just better than measuring based on solely weight. Craig's method is a better way. Once I start getting squish where I don't want it, I pay attention to what I eat and when, balancing it with my exercise. ...the cheesecake is an important part of my diet. :D I need to not just eat less on days I don't exercise, but also eat crazy amounts on days when I exercise heavily.

Braunschweiger on dark rye bread: there is no better sandwich (well, not many). I don't have any right now, unfortunately. :( I'll get some tomorrow...

Probably not a good idea if you're not (like me) anemic and/or underweight, though, given the fat content.

Diet books are worthless and BMI is not a great indicator of anything for a lot of people, but I still can't imagine it's a great idea to eat all that fat and sugar. I do it too, but I don't pretend it's healthy. :|

I'd be careful, simple sugars can be converted to fat very easy. Calories are Calories which ever way you look at it, the only difference is the amount of energy it takes to metabolise them. Any questions fire away, my gf is a diabetes specialist dietitian.

The above was my own thoughts though so if it's wrong it's not because my gf got it wrong. ha :D

2-3 days a week, proper home cooked dinners.
Rest of the week.... take aways.

I'm bordering underweight though my BMI is 21 (yeah cause they are acurate)
Set my goal of trying to get UP to 10 stone about 10 years ago..... one day I'll achieve it.

Yesterday was Parmo and chips.

can someone explain that 'stone' measurement pls? :)

oh and i just had some bread with tuna-spread ;)

Just exercise.

I cycle to work every day and have done for the last 8 years. Apart from one year when I worked 25 miles away from home. That year, I became a tad podgy.

Oh and eat less! You can still have blow-outs once a week - what would life be without being able to stuff your face with a large Dominoes Pizza once in a while....Mmmmmm...pizza.

1 Stone = roughly 6.35 Kilograms!

Beaten to it - serves me right for not going to the last post!

Man up.

I decided that instead of joining a gym, I should just do more housework. That's how manly I am bro.

On an unrelated issue, we all seem to be cheese lovers. Respect.

I eat Cheddar mostly, and Parmesan if I can afford it.

Is that the one that smells like baby vomit?

I like Brie when it's in a nice toasted bacon and brie panini.

I'm currently cooking a Tikka Massala. As usual when I cook for myself though, by the time I've made it, I'm not hungry anymore.

Yes, but it's also the one that tastes like heaven when briskly shaved over a plump caesar salad.

Ooh, ooh - Mozzarella. Fried mozzarella in breadcrumbs.

Try it, it's amazing.

A cheeky globule of pale mozzarella in a crisp shell of golden breadcrumbs.
