Voting Day Is Here!

I hate Blair and Labour but supported them over tutition fees. Anyway I voted for Elliot Morley (Labour) because he is quite a good local MP. Not that it makes a difference; I'm in a safe Labour seat so I've just boosted his majority.

Just got back from the polling station, where there were 3 people voting. Me, my dad and an old woman.

I'm sure it'll pick up later on when people finish work, but hardly a positive sign is it?

While I agree with tutition fee's, the idea of top up fee's is absolutely insane. Due to my family circumstances I stand to pay an extra £7000ish than I would now. Yet, when I hopefully get a decent highish paying job then I'll be taxed rotten. I don't mind being taxed like that, but putting up barriers like that to stop me earning? Bah.

Just like the rest of the population, then.

I won't be voting, can't be bothered, I'm quite happy watching Scrubs and playing Counterstrike.

The student loan company quite happily makes my tuition fees a 'worry about it later' situation.

I find sheer ignorance is the best way to get ahead in life comfortably, as long as the people close to me are happy in their lives then the big picture means nothing to me.

I felt really guilty voting for more socialism but then that's what every party offers.

From what I can see, the main two parties have such little socialist influence that it shouldn't play on your mind.

Well... Just voted Labour again. Unfortunately these days, it's gone from voting for the best party, and come down to voting for the 'least bad'. And unfortunately, due to our electoral system, the Lib Dems have no chance of getting in yet, so I feel I should act to keep the Tories out.

I still think the UK is better than it would have been under the tories, but thats not to say that its good. I'm just sick of all the bandwagon jumping thats been happening by all sides in the last few years - pandering to the popular opinions. Howard is one of the worst for this. The stuff he says now about being untrustworthy is definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

Heh - I mean... the poll tax!

Blimey.

Ah well... fingers crossed.

All 3 parties support state pensions, the NHS and social security.

The Conservatives want to cut taxes (which I support) but this will only affect pensioners; plus they have an immigration policy and crime policy which I disagree with.

The Liberal Democrats want to legalise cannabis and various other victimless crimes (although I don't believe their policies go far enough in this regard) but they want to increase taxes on the rich, which I am very strongly against.

Labour increased taxes already, and I hate Gordon Brown. They want to introduce ID cards, and their systematic destruction of personal freedoms angers me.

No-one could possibly use all the money that they get. Why not put it to a much better use?

Depends which idiots are spending it!

Cutting taxes only helping the poor? Eh? And what crime policy are you against with the tories? Hammer the chavs, I say!

With you on Gorden Brown, and I hate the errosion on our personal liberty imposed by the Labour lot, and seconded by the liberal loving Lib dems (In Germany here, there is nowhere near the invasion, despite such a beaurocratic state!!!).

Anyway, what gets me is this; in the eighties and early nineties there was this notion of 'keeping labour out' after the horror of the late 70s. That's how the tories managed to have so much power that they spiralled out of control. Now we all say 'keep the tories out!' In four years time we'll probably be saying 'get labour out for God's sake'!!!!

And I think we will, and here's why!

There has been no 'economical miracle', but with the low interest rates, people borrow and spend. When they realise how poor they are, they'll be in shit!

1 million manufactoring jobs gone, 850thousand public sector jobs means we make nothing in britain, but have a lot of people filling in forms. Looks good on paper, but who will pay for them, when we realise that the state can't afford to keep them in made up jobs? No one. Cos we won't be working.

The nanny state. Labour is tying us all up to Government again like in the 70s. Baby bonds, TV licences for the elderly if you humiliate yourself by filling out a hideous form to say you are poor, and have not made any success of your life. Very nice! Yep, we all are gonna live under MotherState. Until it goes tits up cos of Brown's overspending economy. And the waste of money will hasten this happy time.

The interference on our liberty by the directives from Europe. Well, speaks for itself.

We are on the brink, and in four years we'll be in the poo! Ands after all the lies from Blair too....

Tomorrow I'll be seeing on BBC World that grinning horrible face. Relieved to have survived all the scandals. Yet still won!

Well done Britain, and well done the last Tory Government! We're all screwed!!!!
