Thanks john4p,

I have created a readme file that will (hopefully!) help new users with UAE4all.

View attachment 542

@EvilDragon is there any chance you could add this to the PND?
That IS a nice readme. Could the width of the lines be made appropriate to the Pandora's screen, though? It's wider than 800px currently.

Hi Esn,

When you open the readme.txt click on options, then word wrap and it will fit to the window.

For Heimdal, I think there is a sega-CD version, might be worth checking out. Or maybe the Atari ST version would work better? Is there a SNES version too? Get your piggy bank out and track them down on ebay unless you are an unscrupulous pirate in which case you no doubt know where to look.

Thanks, I have the Amiga version of Heimdall and always thought it was the best version, there is also a pc version which will probably work on DOS box. Never knew there was a SegaCD version I may have to look on EBay.

Thanks, those key gfx are much better (cleaner) so I'll replace the old ones with them.

Pinball Dreams bugfix:

On the Pinball Dreams table Ignition the WARP- and sidelane-lights didn't work.
Thanks to Toni Wilen who told me how to fix this.

All PD tables work correctly now.
With this fix the game Menace now also works correctly (you're not invincible anymore).

Added tuki_cat's improved virtual keyboard gfx (you still need the virtual keyboard for e.g. the HELP-key).

Thanks a lot for keeping on working on this wonderful emulator! It's appreciated.

Toni is also awesome btw. Always really helpful and eager to contribute.

Indeed. His WinUAE is the best emulator ever and ensures that the Amiga(s) and all of its games is retained for the future and available for anyone.

I have a couple of suggestions - thought they may have been suggested by someone before. In fact my first suggestion is so glaringly obvious I'll be amazed if no one has thought of it, and therefore I suspect there's a good reason it hasn't been implemented. Is there no way to have the disk drive status line displayed in the unused side borders? It'd make a lot of sense to put them there instead of taking valuable pixels off the bottom of the screen (and it'd let you see what's going on).

I had another idea (probably more useful) but I've forgotten what it was. I'll let you know when it comes back to me.

Woot! A new version! Thanks a lot!!!

In addition to my latest suggestions, I think that having a quick way of watching disk activity would be very handy indeed. I know I can show the status bar, but most of the time I don't need it. Is there a hotkey to display it on the fly?

Else, related to disk loading I may have 2 suggestions: simulate the disk drive noise, like it is possible in WinUAE (it really is a cool feature for maximum nostalgia effect and monitor disk activity). And / or add a turbo option to load games faster, by not using a perfectly genuine emulation of the drive speed.

Anyway, the most important thing to me would be to fix this annoying oversensitive menu behavior. :)

Thanks again for this new build, anyway! :)

The most important things to fix are save states (they make the game/emu crash way too often) and the loss of vsync (so you have to enter/exit the menu to re-enable vsync).

Thanks john4p,

I've tried to PND this but can't get it work. However, I'm a complete amateur when it comes to PND'ing things and this is the first thing I have tried to PND, is there someone who is able to do it or help me?

I also couldn't see the new readme in the package I downloaded, this can be added to any PND - View attachment 549

Thanks for all your work

I've put a PND'd version of this on Openhandhelds on behalf of John4p. I'm new to PND'ing things so I have added a new file to Openhandhelds rather than update the last. This was so if there any problems with the version I have PND'd that the previous version would still be available.

Thanks for the update works fine and new keyboard graphics are good. I would second the vsync and menu sensitivity updates if at all possible.

Thanks once again.

Stabler vsync?

Just had a minor epiphany and did a tiny change to our sourcecode.
Still using SteveM's modified SDL without doublebuffering it seems now like the tearing which sometimes sets in after 1 or more minutes is automatically fixed in 0.5 to 5 seconds (so no need for the "enter and leave gui to resynch"-trick anymore(?)).
Sometimes there seems to be just a small hiccup for 0.1 seconds and the smoothness continues for a couple of minutes.

Grab the new version here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bwqk3a4vnd6mh4p

Source code: http://www.mediafire.com/?s6bdxjmtu3tzd61

Please download, test and confirm/deny the behaviour regarding vsync.

Now would be a good time. ;)

I'll give it a try later too.

@john4p - here is the new release with an amended pxml.xml file and Readme_Pandora, if you use these files in any other releases it will include the new readme and enable users to use the Y key in minimenu to access it.

My link

Okay, I will upload any future release with these two files included - thanks.

Great - thanks in advance.

I have only done a quick test but I appear to be having trouble swapping between joystick/mouse/stylus mode using the start button and don't seem to be able to bring up the virtual keyboard.

I haven't had a chance to test for the vsync issues.
