It has been mentioned a while back that the clock will not be retained during a battery swap or similar power outage. Haven't seen anything about it since.

Can the batteries be changed on-the-fly if the PSU is connected?
No.
As for a RTC, according to the magiceye docs there is one, whether GPH have added a lithium internal battery to keep it powered when batterys are out... I dunno... we'll have to wait and see, or ask someone with a dev board if theres has it?
OK, so according to slygamer it does, source please?
And to my knowledge, when you connect a PSU to something that does not use rechargeable batteries, its a simple switch that cuts the connection from the batteries and feeds off the psu; And when you disconnect the PSU the switch switches back to the batteries, seamlessly. SOOOOOO, I think you COULD: Plugin the PSU, take out used batteries, put in recharged ones, and unplug the PSU and have no loss of power(and the clock settings) at all. And also, like with many things, maby its one of those things that can stand like 10-30 seconds without power with out memory loss; i don't know how that works, but i think it feeds off a capacitor. Feel free to correct me if i am wrong about any of the above.
And I just realized it may not matter if it could have clock used for a pda like apalactiion, since the GP2X lacks a keyboard or touchscreen.
On the same note I noted there is a keyboard for something else that is moddibel to work with the GP32, is/was it convent to carry use and do you think it will(i say think because i know none of you really know what is in that EXE port) be able to have something simmler for the 2x? Maby GPH should make one specificity for the 2x, that would be neet as I see the one for the GP32 does not exactly match. Again fell free to correct me if im incorrect.
And in the end it probably doesent matter that much because i have my palm to do all my pda stuff and I (and probably most of you) just want your 2X to play games, watch movies, and listen to music, which GASP! is what its made for.
Spelling and grammer is everywhere sorry, il clean it up later
