Affects, you grammatical wankers.
I was never aware that Americans used the term "Wanker" or maybe it's just me.

Wonder what wanker sounds like in 'merican?

Wait, thanks to the internet

Oh god, that's hilarious.

Btw, I picked it up from being around here and on SZ. The only British slang that I use in person is 'knob', usually paired with 'jockey' because it's an awesome, original insult.

Hah, I think I've done that too for a few words. Although I never really say them, or I'd sound like a knob :p

Between all the Brits here and the British TV and movies I've seen, I've inadvertently added a few 'Britishisms' to my daily usage. It's not too overt and I'm not faking an accent or anything, but I've caught myself saying "mobile" instead of "cell" and things like that.

I also use British spelling for the most part, but technically Canadian English is usually supposed to follow British spelling and grammar, most Canucks just use the American conventions because they're easier.

In my writing I use a bunch of British English, mainly because it reads better and I feel important when I put it in papers :p

I've used "whilst" a bit, and while 'albeit' isn't really British, it's a hell of a lot more common over there than here.

I mean, I hear people saying 'irregardless'. How fucking retarded must you be to use that in collegiate courses? Or any course...

I only ever hear that from Mafioso types on TV shows. I just assumed it was some east coast Italian-American thing. I didn't realise people actually talked like that.

We would dig up slavery if it were still an issue, right (sorta pun lol). This is a MASSIVE problem with our society! We need to address it!
