The Cradle

I find it really expensive, compared to a developer edition BOB with our own casing, specially that it doesn't add any additional features at all (from what I see), one day I will find a cheap case to my BOB :)
Am not saying that this is a bad idea, but it is quiet expensive, almost the price of a PlayStation 2 unit, at least it is coming out :)

edit: do not forget to add the price of the AC adaptor, this will add around $20 :(

?

* Connects 5V/3A AC Adapter *

... is this different from the 'developer's' version? The manual states;

"DC 3V Adaptor Jack : Connects to Adaptor of regulated voltage of DC3V"

?
doesnt it run on the same power adapter as the 2x ?

im sure the 2x one is 2A not 3A this is just confusing now...

just "thinking out loud" a sec here but I was on the Payback wikipedia page and it had this to say:

The game also supports four-player multiplayer deathmatch.

Now that The Cradle is a definate, maybe Apex Designs could release another patch with the inclusion of a deathmatch mode - with a menu selection that is only available when the GP2X is docked with TV out and more than one controller connected....

;)

Other than that...YAY!!

About time, throw in the Power supply and I am so there.

As it is I don't think that $70 is great.

Maybe if the "value pack" had this and a power supply, and the GP2X, AND NOTHING ELSE, the value pack would start to look pretty darn good.

If the value pack was $220-230 and included all this I would so be there.

The reason why there can't be a free power supply is because that would mean a different pack for usa, europe, uk, aus, korea etc. etc. as the sockets are different all over the world. That would cost GPH too much money and lead to many mistakes.

You mean that the current GPH power brick isn't able to function in both America and Europe? I thought it was supposed to be universal, with an eventual plug converter?

Come on Craig, the power supply is the same, they are selling the power supply without any additional plugs, those who has different wall sockets (like US clients) can easily buy a socket converter for less than $5, in fact I can get it were I live for $0.60, so this is not an excuse ;)

Those little adaptors do not meet the correct standards to sell in the UK with a device, sure you can buy them but selling the GP2X with one in the box would not last long without us getting into trouble.

And you'd have to pay extra (on top) for the psu anyway.. so no gain anyway ;)
I'm well keen on one of these - especially if (say) outcast supported it, etc :) for keyboard input... and usb mouse??
Any more pics..? And does it also have internal power?
