Okay, this is going to be a LOOOOOOONG post.
I had to get interested in SEGA and Sonic (you'll see why) before I got interested in the Pandora.
I was watching a few YouTube videos, and I heard the song "Gotta go fast," or whatever it's called, in the video. I scrolled down, and a comment said something like "2:57 Lol Sonic X reference" or something (keep in mind: this was in August, 2009). I then looked Sonic X up on YouTube, and spent a total of 4 days watching all of the episodes. I then became a fan, and got my first Sonic game: Sonic 06 (It was disappointing, but not enough to get me to stop being a fan). After that, I got Sonic's UGC (Ultimate Genesis Collection) and then got interested in SEGA and SEGA's history. In April, 2010, I asked for a SEGA Genesis for my birthday, and there was a LOUD noise when you turn it on, so I had to find another way to play my Genesis games, and that's how I got interested in emulation. One day, I was on Wikipedia, and found the Pandora the same way you did. If I wasn't interested in emulation, I would've just thought that it would be too hard to use. In May 2010, I finally got around to pre-ordering it. It still hasn't come yet, due to the fact that I was one of the last ones to order it, but when I get it, i'm going to stuff all of the emulators and games i can onto the SD card, and play the games from the 80's and 90's that I missed out on (I was born in 1997).
