Snes Emu On N900

I'd like to get an N900 just to replace my phone. I agree, it's hard to justify having both an N900 and a Pandora, but the data (plus tethering to my Pandora for internet gaming or something) is a major plus, considering my current phone doesn't even have EDGE. Ouch.
I just have to justify raising and spending $600 on a phone...

I'm still having the same conflict, but I pre-emptively gave my iPhone away to my better half, so it's either no phone, N900 or something else that isn't an iPhone. I'm currently using a Sonim XP3 as my primary phone.
You can get internet access over bluetooth, which would probably be more power efficient than WiFi, and pretty much all 3G phones have bluetooth.
Or you could get one of those mobile internet modems, and just use your phone as a boring old phone.

I've thought it over (about the N900) and I think I'd rather tether the Pandora to an iPhone than have an N900. Pandora will be more capable as a portable computer/gaming device and iphone is nicer to use as a phone/internet tablet than N900.

The trouble I have is that I'm a thorough gadget addict, and thus got bored of the iPhone and began wanting something else. If I could have the iPhone AND a Nokia N900 I would.

The aforementioned MiFi means I can tether anything to it including my netbook or laptop, which makes it a hell of a lot more flexible. Unfortunately if I DO pick up an N900 there's no way I would be able to justify having two data plans. Although I'd happily use it SIM-free on WiFi and keep a PAYG phone handy for incoming calls- which I receive very infrequently.

Decisions decisions. All I can say with certainty is that the N900 is tempting, even though it will effectively fill the same niche as the Pandora or my N810.

I'm a gadget addict too. If you do get an N900 I'd like to hear your thoughts about owning it vs an iPhone.
N900 does seem like a very attractive option to me being so open. All of the things that frustrate me about iPhone would not be an issue with it such as divx playback, good full sped emus, multitasking, open bluetooh, and really everything that comes with having such an open system. But I think I will always prefer the iPhone touchscreen, and the browser experience is unmatched in a mobile device IMO. Which is kind of why I think iPhone makes a better very comact and highly pocketable information device, and pandora will make a better ultra compact computer/game system- though possibly not really pocketable for a guy like me who doesn't want a bulge in my pocket.
