Beta ptitSeb's Beta Lair

Hi again,

@ptitSeb : I have just tried your beta PicoLove PND, and it doesn't work on my Rebirth (black screen) :( I tried two different SGX drivers, 4.03.00.02 and 4.10, but to no avail...

What am I doing wrong ?

Cheers, Magic Sam

I've got to say, that picolove (Pico-8) game platform has got to be one of the most impressive and creative projects I've seen in awhile, it's really darn cool.

Hmm, same problem here. I get a black screen with the new version.
Using a GHz, removed appdata.

According to the pndrun-output, it loads and runs the default cart, so it seems it just renders a black picture.

Hi all,

@ptitSeb : I tried some PICO-8 games today: Celeste, Dusk Child, PICORACER-2048. They were all either buggy or too slow to be enjoyable.

PAT Shooter crashed with a LUA error.

The interpreter looks pretty unstable and unresponsive too.

I'm looking forward to playing a better version of PicoLove in the future, and thanks for your hard work on this one :)

Cheers, Magic Sam

Hi all,
Was that on a CC?
I played Celeste, but that ran fullspeed without any issues.
No, I'm playing on a Rebirth.
@Magic Sam : odd, Celeste, Dusk Child and Picoracer-2048 are all smooth on the Gigahertz. I wasn't expecting them to be slow on a Rebirth.
I didn't play Celeste a lot (stuck on first screen so far...), so I can't really tell about this game. Dusk Child seems to be a really great game, but the waterfall animation brings poor little Pandora to its knees, and the fire animation appears to be missing... PICORACER-2048 is too slow @ 600 MHz, but playable with OC @ 825 MHz.

Cheers, Magic Sam

Hi i finaly tried the newer Codeblocks from this Thread but unfortunaly starting gives me that Error:
Code:

btw my Pandora destroyed somehow my other 64GB DEV SD Card.
This Error here is from an fresh reflashed and upgraded GHZ Pandora and my working 16GB Card in ext2 Partition.

Okay, played with PicoLove.
On the latest beta version, any driver below 4.08 shows a black screen.
4.08 works fine, played through Duskchild with only minor slowdowns, but the flames were invisible.

4.10 is TERRIBLY slow. Like 1 frame each 4 or 5 seconds.

So anyone testing it should use 4.08

Added To The Moon to 1st post.
You'll need the full data from the GoG Linux version. The The Moon is a really nice game, that is more about the Story telling than the game mecanics. It's an easy and short game (can be completed in 3h) with a Story. This pnd use mkxp (like the linux version of the game). mkxp use Shaders and SDL2, so CC model will probably not be able to use it. Also, I own only the GoG version of the game, so the unpacker only works for this version. For the Steam and Humble bundle version, you have to copy the data yourself (all goes to appdata/tothemoon, in a folder named, agin, tothemoon). Also, the engine (mkxp) use a Ruby interpreter, making the game a bit slow, with weird pause on each dialog, making it less fun to play (or maybe it's a GLES2 issue?). And a last remark: it seems that the prefered driver for this one is the 4.08 (like for picolove).

I don't think the Windows version can work... You need the Linux version (data are differents, at least there are in a dfferent form). Sorry... but only the Linux version data is supposed to work with mkxp.

Just to show you, here is a "ls" of the data from the Linux version

So i am the unlucky Guy who bought the Windows Version.
I tried to extract Files and rename Files but did not work either.

Thanks for the File Lists..they explain good why it not work :D

You should write a mail to freebird games to see how to get the Linux version, there must be something doable.
