Don't know if this is expensive or worth it, but as most controllers seem to have analogue shoulder buttons, would it be possible and cost efficient to maybe use some pressure senstive buttons on the shoulders - that way you don't need any mechanical bits for the analogue aspect, but you'd still make it available.
Or maybe could put something like this between the electic switch and the plastic button:

Then you'd still get the digital button press, as well as a pressure reading.
I'm not sure I'd use such a feature, but thought I'd maybe throw the idea out there
