Pandora Rebirth Competition (2012-01-09)

Agreed, lots of creativity, heavy creativity. It´s just that the tool is more like math and logic then a pencil and brush. ^_^

Devs are like painters, some of them develop own individual technique, some of them copies technique from other devs. But theres always a part of creativity in there, always..
Yeah! ^^

"Let's make some happy little Clouds and Trees" :D

With creativity, I meant visual creativity, like the design of an UI or a game.

Working on kernel improvements, for example, don't need creativity like that, though the code can be very creative, of course :D

Nice comparison.

And some devs take a photo of a painting and put their watermark on it.

That's not to say such a thing is necessarily bad or lacking in creativity: I've seen a lot of "photos" that required a significant amount of "touch up" over the original "painting" to make it look good, and when done well, everyone can benefit. Unfortunately, the number of people lacking in scruples is not low enough for me to ignore.

Ladies and gentlemen's, I will try to participate in the contest with the project:

BENNU 3D - 3D Game Development

The BennuGD now with the 3D version, to create easily powerful and fast coder 3D Games for your Pandora, with Bennu syntax programming language :)

This include:

- Compiler/Interpreter BennuGD classic version with all the actual features to create games 2D for Pandora.

- Bennu3D module: A module with 3D functions based on Irrlicht Engine and Bullet Physhics Library

- Possibility to add new modules compiled to Pandora Bennu's, with more functions and features.

- A set of demos with src code, to learn easily to program your 3D game and illustrate Bennu3D capability's.

Some examples of projects created by this tool (windows version):

I'm hoping to enter the competition with an original, first-person perspective 3D, single-player, action-adventure game, written in C, using a custom 3D engine. I haven't done any software development for many years - so wish me luck, I will need it!

Two weeks ago I started a new job 9-5:30 locally, so I will have evenings, weekends and 4.5 holiday days to attempt to get this together.

The rules and prizes are spot on (photos of the cases please?). I want the Golden Pandora but I know I'll be facing stiff competition. Much to do, little time, so I need to get myself moving! I will make a forum thread about it, once I've got somewhere. Hope to get my TV-out cable in time to post some videos.

Thanks Binky!

I will soon have a page up and will be able to host it there too, thanks again for the advice, never used shack.

If I right click it there is no ´view image´ on my menu, I´m using chrome, not sure if that is the problem.

Down at image shack they request I sign in, can´t bother that.

Better I post images only on threads that permit attachments.

Hm. Another way to do it is to 'embed this image' on the imageshack page you linked to, then copy and paste the code next to 'forum into a post here.

Code:
[URL=http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/96/ongo.jpg/][img=http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/7277/ongo.jpg][/URL]

Uploaded with [URL=http://imageshack.us]ImageShack.us[/URL]

then clear out the junk

Code:
