[Original Game] Muon

Cool stuff, looking forward to updates on this.

Testing out a new map.

Bad news: I don't know if I'll be able to get it to work on OpenPandora.

It runs fine, not laggy or anything. For about 1.3 seconds. Then, it completely freezes. I can connect and external keyboard and go out to tty 1. There, I'm getting a load of "pvr: muon: IOCTL 69 failed (13)" (about 6 per second.)

I can't kill with SIGTERM, but SIGKILL stops the process and xfce resumes as if nothing happened.

Unlike what's described in http://boards.openpandora.org/index.php/topic/8810-porting-pewpew/page-2, I don't see any messages about the SGX being resetted.

:/

Might be hitting a pvr driverbug.

Only one who might be able to comment on that would be notaz I guess...

You might be able to figure out what you are doing when it freezes with some printf debugging.

Edit: Do you play it on a GHz unit or on a cc one?

There might be differences in what the pvr chip can handle.

Rebirth

EDIT: It freezes when I scroll around the map. I think it doesn't freeze when I have alpha blending enabled, but that makes it choppy.

Do you use nub or mouseinput? Try to disable it.

There were similar problems in yamagi quake iirc.

Also try to turn off wifi while playing.

WiFi off. Animation in the background freezes as well. What do you mean with disabling mouse input?

It seems to me that it's clearly something in the SGX driver that isn't quite right.

I mean, I could be completely wrong about this, but sometimes when you moved a nub in yamagi quake, it would let the game stutter or hang up.

It was just something that came to my mind when I read your problem.

Looks interesting! will you reveal what it's about?

<I'd be happy to help debug this...>

Rebirth and Giga Pandoras have good Wifi. GC tests every unit.
I am sorry to contradict this, and it's a bit off-topic, but my Rebirth Pandora
does not have good wifi out-of-the-box, and I think this is the norm rather than the exception.
The wifi is unstable, ssh gets very laggy, downloads fail or drop out, etc.
If anything the old CC Pandora I have works better.

I think this is due to the power management, maybe a problem in the driver.

The iwconfig command in my sig makes the wifi reliable at least

- you might want to include it with gksudo in your internet game -
but the data rate is still slow, and as far as I know every Pandora

including 1GHz has slow internal wifi due to how the hardware works.
You won't get better than about 200KB/s on any Pandora with the internal wifi,

unless I am very much mistaken.

If the 1GHz wifi is faster, that's good.  I guess I'll find out when mine eventually arrives!

I think it would take a long time to download code::blocks direct to the Pandora!

I get >500KB/s on my Pandora's internal wifi, if I'm near my wifi access point.

I agree that power saving + ssh is not a good combination - I prefer mosh.

When did you get it? That sounds like the problem mine had before I performed this fix:

I´m a bit late here, but that screen shot up there is really tempting.

I´m a huge fan of M.A.X. and somehow I kind of see a bit of it into that...
