Actually even the first release of quake was able to scale its resolution all the way up to 2560x1600 if your monitor and GPU supports it, possibly even higher. It was quite a unique feature when the game was launched.I don't care much for the ports eather, but it's nice to see that they work You should also know that quake will most likely look quite horrible on your 17" LCD since it's res is the native one of the gp2x that will get stretched to death on your great big screen, blurr on.
Playing on 320*240 a game which res is 320*240 or lower(as for emulated consoles) on a rather small screen(allthough 3,5" are great for a handheld) looks much more enjoyable then spread across a screen whose native res is 1280*1024 or more
