Nintendo 3DS

That can't be, the 3DS is a failing system and mobile gaming is obviously moving to phones and stuff. :p

Well, I received a gift yesterday...

It's cosmo black and takes photographs in 3D!

Its great the way that so many people buy things with the most megahurtses/gigibites when its shoved in their face, but don't care about the low screen res, the lack of multitouch, the low power processor in a DS.

Happy first anniversary to the Nintendo 3DS - it's been a rather good first year, for sure. :)

Has everyone checked their SpotPass notifications, today...? ;)

Whoo, Reggie!

Hey, since this is my first Nintendo handheld, can somebody recommend some DS/3DS RPGs/adventure games? Thanks.

We got Iwata over here in Europe, for what it's worth. :D (He also inadvertently helped me to learn a brilliant trick in StreetPass Quest II, as well...)

As for adventure games and the like, Jourdy, I must highly recommend the DS game, Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, as it is very awesome. :p And you know I'm going to recommend something Mega Man-related, anyway, so I'll just get that over with, here: Mega Man ZX, Mega Man ZX Advent, and the Mega Man Zero Collection (all for the DS) are well worth checking out (the Zero Collection contains all four of the GBA games, which lead up to ZX and ZX Advent, so you can basically play two entire series in chronological order that way :p ). Those are all platformers, though...

DS stuff aside, I'm not really sure what's out there RPG-wise for the 3DS - RPGs aren't really my sort of genre! I know that they ported Tales of the Abyss, though, and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance is out sometime soon if I'm remembering rightly...

A good place to dive into is Nintendo3DSBlog.com.

What what? Trick?

Unfortunately I accidentally moved Reggie to the Mii Maker before I had a chance to use him in the Find Mii quest, or get a puzzle piece. I moved him back, but it was too late. I'll never be able to call on his help again. :(

Hmmm, why was I expecting Mega Man? Haha, but thanks, I'll check out Solatarobo. I'm currently using this really cool application for painting, but I can't tell you much about it until April 5.

As far as RPGs go, I'm considering the various Final Fantasy ports that the DS received.

Also, nice recommendation, first two posts on that site were RPGs!

I'll put it in spoilers. ;)

Water magic - which is wielded by Miis and Wanderers wearing dark blue - bypasses shadowlight shields.

It's a great help if you can't find people wearing the relevant colours. :D

That'll be Colors! 3D, then, since it's due for release on that day. :p

I've been looking forward to that for ages - the original version was one of the killer-apps of DS homebrew (that's where it originated, and it used the pressure-sensitivity that the DS had, but which was disallowed in official releases, because it varies from unit to unit), thus, Colors! 3D is an insta-buy for me. :D

Glad to be of help! :D It looks like there's been some more posts added since I last checked, too...

Well, I attended PAX and have well over 50 Miis inside my 3DS. StreetPass is really quite impressive!

^ Did you get any staff ones? :D (As I'm sure you know by now, you can tell which ones they are because they have gold trousers.)

Oh really? Let me check...

Naw, just Reggie. That's the one thing I don't like about StreetPass- you can only pick up ten at a time.

I remember when they first announced the starting price for this. I said I was gonna wait for a price drop, after which I was called a noob and some people said that it wouldn't happen for 3 years. Look what happened the same year it was released, :p . As for RPGs, I'm still new to the Tales games, so I got the Tales of the Abyss port, and I enjoy it. There's an RPG by Square Enix called Heroes of Ruin, said to release on June 26, if you want to check that out.

Erm, welcome to last August, I guess...? ;)

Anyway, unless you're breaking the sockpuppeteering rule or posts have gone missing (which they haven't), you certainly never said that or got called a noob on this forum. This is your first post in this thread, even. :p

There's also Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance (most direly punnish way of incorporating "3D" into a subtitle *EVER*), Rune Factory 4, Bravely Default: Flying Fairy, and Etrian Odyssey IV at the very least! There sure are a lot of RPGs...

Isn't Heroes of Ruin a dungeon-crawler, though?

EDIT: Mistook that term for another by accident. It happened on an IRC Chat full of tweens for Super Mario Bros. X, before the maker of it got a not so friendly e-mail from Nintendo about it and had to stop progressing on it.

Looked into Heroes of Ruin more, and it is a dungeon crawler.

Yeah, I'm breaking that rule. Sorry :( .
Poor form, fella, poor form... ;) What's your other account?

EDIT: I've been informed that there's been some confusion, here. :p

Ahh, I see. Terms like that can get confusing sometimes - sorry for thinking that you were using a fake account! I'd love to know what you thought I meant.
